Excellent location and has some 'presence'. Promote and efficient service. Food promises more than it delivers. Somewhere to experience once or to take visitors.

Lovely food - favourite dishes were the mussel risotto and the blood orange tart. Great service - very friendly in lovely surroundings.

Lovely place, but not a good start for us, they did not book us in correctly, so had to wait half an hour for them to to prepare our afternoon tea. When we asked for. Few more sandwiches, again we had to wait. The bread was not very fresh and the scones were cold. When the bill came we was charged an extra £2.50 and charged over £5 service charge. Very disappointed as this was my husbands birthday treat.

Lovely Art Deco room though on a Friday lunchtime it was half empty. We had the £22/£28 special including a glass of fizz. The food was delicious but the service was disorganised to say the least. No-one approached our table. Every time we wanted anything we had to call someone over. Not what I would expect from Searcy's. Our wine was left unattended nowhere near our table. The only time a member of staff approached it appeared to be the manager who grabbed our bottle of wine which by that time we had put on our table and started to try to fill our glasses, which is a habit I detest. Properly trained staff should always ask before they fill up a glass. I would say that the management needs to improve.

The food was really good and it was a relaxed but smart atmosphere. However the service was slow and although I'd told them we had a gluten free guest, they seemed unaware and it was a bit of a struggle to get some compensation which we did.
