This is an amazing place I've often walked past it when I've been going to the theatre so I arranged an evening out where we could dine here and I wasn't disappointed!!! The food ambience and staff were fabulous,,,,, not to mention the fantastic decor of the restaurant,,,, we loved it so much we are already talking about a return visit!!!!

The restaurant is an experience and the service and location is excellent. However the food is heavy and over priced.

The atmosphere here is fantastic and the service is excellent. The food is good and the lamb shank is amazing (even with supplement on the Tenor pre-theatre menu). Overall a super experience.

We had a lovely meal at Sarastro pre-theatre on 1 March 2017. Just two of us - and we shared a mixed meze to start - it was wonderful - but there was so much, it was enough for four people so, by the time the main course came, we were pretty full up. Nevertheless we managed to get through the beautifully cooked and elegantly presented sea bass and dover sole. The service was impeccable, and we were very well looked after, professionally, unobtrusively, and efficiently and friendly.

On entering Sarasto it's always a Wow and even after my last visit 9 years ago it still was a Wow although the place is looking somewhat tired now perhaps hidden in the evening light ok but it could do with a touch up!
This was a special Birthday lunch for my daughter and the first one that she and I had since my mother passed away recently and I had written that in the restaurant message box but there was absolutely nothing ..no acknowledgement of why we were there nothing and considering we were only one of 3 services and it was extremely quiet just that little bit of effort would have made all the difference to the start of my daughters Birthday Day:/
Service was good and we had the Tenore Lunch Menu ...Hummus with pitta followed by the Salmon followed by Tiramouso. The salmon was beautifully cooked and came with almond potato and some lightly fried courgette and peppers and asparagus. That was delicious.
The kitchen was quite noisy with people talking and a few times it looked as though workmen we're going backwards and forwards doing things which I don't think you would get in the evenings so I feel lunchtime diners are less "taken care of" as in ambience wise!
The bill with just a coca cola and lime and soda was £41.
Would I be looking forward to going there again at lunch or recommending? To be honest NO and the toilets could certainly do with a refurbish it's all well and good relying on the erotic murals but there are so many other places who achieve some fun but also are cleaner and brighter. There's a sense of complacency at Sarastro and there's a lot of competition out there too relying on what was rather than what could be! The only recommendation would be ...visit it at night but be prepared to pay an absolute fortune for wines which living in Spain I know are massively hyped up prices!

We spent Valentine's night there & had a great time. Everything was perfect - the entertainment, food & service. I definitely recommend this, if you fancy somewhere with lots of atmosphere.
