Really disappointed...I booked the tea for my Mum's 70th bday & took my 12 year old son. We had last sitting of the day. I was hoping the theme would be really twee & something a little different...I had experienced better afternoon teas elsewhere for a 1/3 cheaper. My mum however liked it & we went onto the Theatre (Charlie & the chocolate factory-which was AMAZING and made up for the disappointing food -I would not return.
Food -average, toilets were dirty, our table was shoved in the corner. We were not offered the jelly selection, saw it on the way out!!. The sweet selection tasted like it had been on a plate all day! I don't normally write on these review sites -my recommendation is book something cheaper elsewhere -not worth the money!!!!

    Amazing afternoon tea.

We were impressed with the general atmosphere of the bar and restaurant. The food was nice and we enjoyed experimenting the different flavours.
We were told that our table was only booked for 2 hours but we had been warned about it beforehand.
We were promised free refills of sandwiches and scones and we got them. However, it took so long for the food to arrive that we ended up eating sweet and savoury at the same time. The restaurant was very busy but we would have liked to be taken care of a bit more as the afternoon tea in itself was quite expensive (£48 with Champagne). We refused to pay for the additional service charge (£5 per head) and the waiter did not make a fuss and was so apologetic we felt sorry for him.
Overall it was a nice experience but I would not go back there.

This was a very unique afternoon tea, perfect for a birthday or other celebration. The Sanderson hotel again is a very modern different hotel. The Alice in Wonderland theme was lovely and carried out through the tea. The staff were very attentive and more than happy to refill your sandwich plate or offer more tea, of which there was a choice of flavours including delicious mint and chocolate. The sweets and cakes were novel and yummy!

Best afternoon tea we have had in london with fantastic service. The afternoon tea was amazing great assortment of sandwiches which staff were happy to replenish if you wanted more. Cakes and pastries were great. Nice to have something different than the usual offerings of an afternoon tea.

Not as good as I expected, cracked teapot, which I must say, was changed promptly. We were over-charged too. Also, quite chilly.
