Situated in the trendy restaurant quarter of Truro, Saffron is a charming restaurant serving refined British cuisine. Praised highly in the influential 2013 Trencherman’s Guide, Saffron sources its ingredients locally, and is kept cosy and welcoming all year round thanks to its wood burning stove.

By attending Truro farmers market twice weekly, the Saffron chefs ensure that diners can expect the finest Cornish produce. The fresh ingredients go straight into making the restaurant’s lavish specialities, such as the succulent medallions of Primrose Herd pork fillet with puy lentil jus, or the flavoursome Cornish chicken and lobster fricassee with peas, samphire and braised rice.

Nestled in the town’s bohemian restaurant quarter, Saffron Restaurant in Truro offers a leisurely dining environment thanks to its low ceilings, wood panelling and flag-stoned floors. Plush booths and plump cushions ensure that diners can enjoy their food in comfort.

A quaint Cornish establishment serving sumptuous, locally-sourced dishes, Saffron Restaurant is just a 13-minute walk from Truro Station.

Excellent welcome, table exactly as booked.
Suggest dip served separately with Fishcakes
Been unwell for 13 weeks, yesterday my third meal out, would really appreciate smaller portions.

Ñothing was too much trouble for the waitress when attending to our party of 5. The food choice is good and cooked to perfection. The restaurant is comfortable with a relaxed ambiance. I always eat in Saffron when I visit Truro and have brought many friends over the years. It is good value and with local seasonal produce. What's not to like?!!

The pre-theatre dinner is fantastic and great value for money.
The vegetarian options are wonderful and I loved the grilled halloumi
Great service and efficient, friendly staff.

Very pleasant meal, cracking bottle of wine.....need to sort out your toilet plumbing and probably best not to put the washing machine on spin cycle halfway through service.

We had lunched here before, having found it by chance on a previous day trip to Truro. The menu, food and service had been good and unusual with special touches to the dishes and lots of fresh local and seasonal ingredients. Unfortunately, not this time! The menu was much less imaginative and the special touches on the dishes were missing. Still good service and fair value for the fixed price menu (we didn't have desserts), but nothing special about it. The haloumi starter was just breadcrumbed cheese deep fried, and the fish stew (like some other dishes from what I have since read in reviews) was a largely tomato based sauce, and not very interesting. We will be trying somewhere else for lunch next time.
