Everything was fine. There is good spacing between the tables. Restaurant is spacious and well appointed. The menu is extensive. Being diabetic, the grilled salmon with salad is ideal.

Dating back to the 18th century, The Royal George sits in 26 acres of land and offers spectacular views of The Cotswolds. Discover traditional English food, fine wines and real ales.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, The Royal George menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

    A nice relaxed atmosphere. Food tasty and served hot. Good service and attention from waiting staff without being overpowering. Really good.

    Poor. The restaurant wasn't busy, staff seemed to be flustered though. Took way to long with taking our orders, had to be reminded. When order taken, it took two go's , as we had to reorder, because they had run out of an item on the specials menu, 10 minutes lost there. I ordered fillet steak, which was tough and inedible. I sent it back, only to have it replaced with a something completely different, a sirloin I think, which was also equally inedible. We were a party of 6 and used to both staying and eating at Old English Inns, for work and leisure. I travelled an hour to go there and our friends over an hour, so our displeasure with the whole affair will make us think twice to go there again. On a positive note, the staff were pleasant, despite the shortcomings of the chef.

    Lovely atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, unfortunately a the roast beef was inedible, the other two meals were turkey & were ok. sweets were excellent.

    The booking was easy through book a table, on arrival we were told our table would be in the resturant and not the bar, the waitress was very pleasant we were served the wrong wine but this was quickly rectified and was an easy mistake. We duly ordered our meal the two men ordered lamb shank which they both enjoyed I ordered sirloin steak which came with chips mushrooms and tomato the steak was fine everything else was cold my friend ordered the fish pie which was very dried up the potatoes were black the whole meal looked as if it had been cooked the day before left to go cold and reheated so much so she could not eat it we were offered a replacement for the two meals but it would have ment we would have to eat on our own, the waitress had a word with her manager and we were given 50% off our food. Would I go there again? Yes but not for a while and would not take friends until trying it ourselves first.
