menu was great. Food cooked really well. Especially liked the octopus carpaccio and beef cheeks and oxtail dishes. Service excellent and ambience in the restaurant was relaxing with the right amount of formality.

Overall we were rather disappointed with the quality of food provided. The mackerel starter was OK the mackerel was flavoursome however the accompaniment was rather bland. The minestrone soup flavour was strong and overpowered the vegetables it was poured over. We all had a chicken dish for main course, the chicken breast was moist with an infusion of thyme, however the chicken itself had no flavour. The potato accompaniment was baked so hard at the top and bottom that it was extremely difficult to cut. The red cabbage was nice however the dish as a whole was not of the quality expected. The cheese selection for desert was very good. The service was attentive however during the meal we were not asked if the food was OK. I was surprised that a 12.5% service charge was added to the bill, a practice I associate more with the chain restaurants.

Dined as part of the London Restaurant Festival.
The menu on offer was quite a bit less appetising than the sample menu shown, but the dishes were still tasty.
The experience was ruined by the mouse that ran past our table however..

We dined at the Roux and the food was delicious, we felt very well looked after by all the staff and enjoyed all aspects of the experience. Their was a reasonable choice of menu, the little extras such as hors d'oeuvres were lovely. The Champagne was good and went down well.
