The food was absolutely divine and beautifully presented, but what made this a stand out place for us was the staff - incredibly friendly, fun and helpful, they truly made our evening special. Cannot wait to come and eat here again. The hotel itself is beautiful and has an excellent cocktail bar. The location is also great for those shipping in Selfridges and Liberty.

Dined here in Restaurant Festival Week so a set menu with 1/2 bottle wine and coffee and petit fours. Our booking was 5:30 (the only time available) and we arrived a little early (10 mins) with the intention to drop our coats, use the facilities and have a pre-dinner drink. no one was at front of house, and there was already another couple waiting. i went in search of help, and i can only have been invisible as the staff I encountered didn't even acknowledge i was wandering into a restaurant clearly looking for help. i eventually approached a young lady who curtly told me that the restaurant didn't open until 5:30. Not the welcome i was expecting. When we were seated the waiting staff were pleasant and the service reasonably informal. Our starters were nice. nothing amazing about the salmon, but the cauliflower soup was delicious and served in a style expected of a Michelin Star restaurant. all main courses were delicious, but the deserts were described better than the actual reality. my daughter had cheese, and the waitress left it on the side table and didn't even serve it to her. coffee was OK, but petit fours were mini choc eclairs ? not what i was expecting. overall a little disappointed. better food and service at our only michelin star restaurant in my home town - Chester.

Everything was just as you'd expect at the Landau. We were greeted warmly at reception, being asked if we were celebrating anything on the day. We mentioned that as we were two weeks past my husband's birthday all we were celebrating was having a day off on a Friday. Imagine our surprise when our petit-fours arrived on a slate, with 'Happy belated birthday' iced onto it! That sums up the Landau really, attention to detail. The room is large and round, lots of wall space so couples are seated around the room with larger tables more centrally placed, no music. The atmosphere is relaxed and unhurried, although there is always a waiter there to top up water or wine without being asked. We had the set lunch menu with half a bottle of wine each. My starter of pumpkin soup with mushrooms was delicious, although I can't say the same for the coddled egg, I now know not to ask for that again, the yolk was lovely but snotty egg white is not a love of my life. We both enjoyed our mains, the bream risotto was delicious, being a surprisingly large fillet and my husband's feather blade was moist and delicious too. We had wondered about the smart casual dress code. Glad we didn't wear suits, as we would have felt over dressed, most people were in shirts and pants, ladies in ordinary day wear, the guy next to us was in a tee shirt, rolled up jeans and trainers. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Went during the London Restaurant Festival for a birthday treat and what a treat it was. Got a great deal, 3 courses and half bottle of wine for £45pp, the food was exceptional, the duck main course was delicious and the sweet, lemon cheesecake with apple sorbet was divine! Will definitely return next year for another birthday treat.

A faultless dinner. Cauliflower soup was exquisite with curried ravioli, and my chicken supreme was sublime. A new dimension to my tastebuds. I never thought such mundane ingredients could be made so flavourful and memorable. this will be a meal I shall be telling family and friends about for a very long time.
