    This was a mixed experience. The food was delicious, imaginative and, beautifully presented. However, perhaps the portions were just a little on the small side. Normally, the friend that I was lunching with and I would have either a pudding or coffee and petits fours - on this occasion we were happy to have both. The service was relaxed, friendly and unhurried - just a little lacking in efficiency. In addition to a glass of champagne as an aperitif we decided to have wine with our main course. We were offered a wine list but it did not appear and we had to ask for it. Having ordered wine we were asked if we would like it immediately, however we asked for it to be served with our main courses, they arrived but the wine did not and we had to ask for it. The coffee was excellent and ample but the petits fours, delicious as they were, were a trifle mean as we were asked to choose from 4 flavours and not presented with the full selection as a matter of course. Unusually, the bill when it arrived had a 12.5% service charge PLUS a space for a tip. We agreed that we were glad that we had tried this, new to us restaurant but that we would probably not repeat the experiment.

    My wife and I decided to book lunch after receiving an offer from Bookatable. Roux at the Landau is a very impressive restaurant and we had a wonderful meal. The food was beautifully cooked, the service was outstanding and cost was modes and represented very good value. All told, an outstanding lunch!

    The food was great, environment was great also. Nice fresh bread. As we don't drink alcohol, we opted for orange juice instead. Additionally we asked for two glasses of hot water (rather than cold tap water). We were brought two teapots of hot water, which were charged at £6.00 each. I thought that was steep, but paid up to avoid any embarassment.
