An exciting blend of European, Australasian and Pan-Asian cuisine, Robata Bar & Grill is a contemporary fusion eatery inside Resorts World Birmingham. Diners can enjoy the theatrics of dishes cooked over the leaping flames of the Japanese Robata grill at lunchtime and in the evening for dinner.

Special high teas combine eclectic dishes with aromatic infusions, and are served each afternoon. The Asian high tea pairs various teas with savoury and sweet treats, such as avocado maki roll and spiced strawberry trifle.

The Robata Bar & Grill menu is packed with exciting fusions, starting with salt & pepper squid with sriracha mayonnaise, and pork belly yakatori with spiced apple puree and Szechuan chilli salt. From the robata charcoal grill, there is grilled lamb chops with nam pla prik, red snapper with bacon dashi and spring onion oil and prime cheeseburger with tomato and smoked bacon chutney. There are aromatic Asian soups and curries, as well as other indulgent seafood creations like roasted barramundi with tempura prawn, enoki and herb salad and miso mayonnaise. Elsewhere on the menu find sharing dishes, Singapore chilli crab and a 1kg tomahawk steak on the bone, both served with 2 sides of your choice.

From the bar, discover bold Asian takes on classic cocktails, such as the wasabi gin sour, and mandarin and kumquat bellini, as well as a Japanese whiskey, shochu and sake.

Offering a theatrical fusion of world cuisines, Robata Bar & Grill is 15 minutes' walk from Birmingham International Railway Station.

It was Ok but nothing to rave about. Not much atmosphere and although staff efficient, attentive and food served quickly felt a bit like we were on a conveyor belt. Menu could do with just a few simple variations.

Absolutely beautiful place, decor is modern and fits in perfect with the type of restaurant it is. The service was incredible, really fast service but it didn't feel as though you were rushed! Very pretty views across the lake. Overall very nice!

I had a pre-concert dinner at the Robata Bar & Grill in Resort World,Birmingham. The ambience in the restaurant was really good - bustling and lively. Service was good. Our waiters were friendly and attentive. The food, which was described as Australasian fusion, was okay but not earth shattering! In terms of main courses, I had the Pad Thai and have no complaints but it was just okay and nothing more. The other members of my party had the Korean beef cheeks (again, just okay) and the crispy aromatic duck (tasted a bit processed rather like a pack of 'Gressingham' peking duck but quite tasty nonetheless). I would recommend this restaurant for its pleasant ambiance, friendly staff and location but not for the food.
