I've visited the River Cafe in numerous occasions and never been disappointed. Yesterday was the first time I sampled a Sunday lunch and have to say it was fantastic. Succulent roast beef cooked to perfection with a delicious selection of tasty vegetables. I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage with Nutmeg.
Excellent value for money at £9:95 for a single course and £12:95 for 2 and £15:95 for 3 courses.
The staff are always professional, pleasant and friendly.

My sisters and I visited for lunch and decided to opt for the three course set menu. The food was lovely and very good value. Our waitress was very good and really friendly.

Lovely friendly service. We ate the thre course special. Fish if the day cooked to perfection. Soup needed a little bit more depth but beautiful and light. No healthy option for desert so opted for coffee. Friend had the fish balliontine as a starter and enjoyed it. Her plum tart was a bit disappointing and needed a knife to cut into the pastry.
