Cosy restaurant overlooking the river Tyne. Smart but not pretentious. Sunday Lunch was reasonably priced, Sticky Toffee pudding to die for! Thoroughly deserves bib gourmand. Staff polite and attentive. Meal for 4 with drinks came in at under £90. Recommend

The food and service were fabulous. We had a work night out and the River
Cafe team bent over backwards to see our dietary requirements and wishes were seen to. The food was amazing and the views of the river Tyne were spectacular.

Enjoyed the evening. Pleasant surroundings, nice atmosphere (important), good service. Food was nicely cooked and very enjoyable. My wife and I found the menu to be a little bit limited but we understood why that would be. Some days you don't fancy fish (hake is a bit played out these days) and the meat choice is limited to pork or steak. It would have been good to have a different beef or lamb dish option. That's a comment rather than a criticism, as we enjoyed the meal and would happily return.

A nice welcome and taken to a window seat. enjoyed the decor and ambience. The service was very good and the staff knew about the food. there were one or two items unavailable but that didn't matter really. the food was excellent and we enjoyed every mouthful. will definetly return. thank you chef
