Positioned just outside Crewe within the Cheshire countryside, The Rising Sun is a relaxed rural pub and dining room. Offsetting the expansive interior, guests can enjoy the al fresco terrace during warmer weather.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Rising Sun menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at the Rising Sun pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

A family-friendly pub brimming with character, The Rising Sun in Wistaston is a 9-minute drive from central Crewe.

Not the best of evenings. They had no record of our booking for starters. As it happens they weren't too busy so we got a table easily, but could have been another matter...
They were short staffed and we had to wait for our food and to order drinks at the bar.
I know they can do better, otherwise I would be seriously considering if we would go again.
The food when it arrived was ok but my risotto had been left too long and was very dry, not creamy, but the fish and chips and the verge curry were apparently pretty good. Intercourse the desserts are to die for!

the meal was very good and we enjoyed it so much, and the staff was very pleasant and helpfull. The only problem was the toilets, a little smelly, shame the evening was great.

Gentleman who greeted us when we arrived couldn't be bothered to find his glasses to see our reservation and just told a waitress to seat us. Not very professional! Ordered the Indian banquet only to be told that it was off that day. Food was good when it arrived as was the service.

Meal for 4.No problems with booking or table. Staff friendly and food good- 3 of us had the cod and chips -very good. Chicken fajitas were very tasty but not sizzling on this occasion- still v warm though. Would definitely come again.
