pleasant tea room attached to hotel. Service a little slow but very nice staff - they were quite busy and could not find our reservation immediately. Very good standard of food, tea and champagne/prosecco options. Good value and I would return for sure. could not finish the amount of food for our trio, so they kindly packed up the cakes for us to take. Scones and jam, sandwiches very good.

Excellent meal but I felt that the main course was a little small

Lovely meal as usual, but a little slow with our drinks order and presenting us with the menu maybe because you were busy and we arrived before all the waiting staff were on duty. So not quite the perfection we are used to, and no one to put our serviettes on our laps with a flourish!

Beautiful South Shropshire countryside, pleasant dining room ambience, attentive staff. Food is currently not much more than bistro fare, served on pretentious plates, but there is an attention to detail which makes the whole experience enjoyable. We've visited before and will keep coming back to see how things develop :-)

Visited for Sunday lunch. We were seated in the conservatory and had a lovely outlook over the grounds and open country side beyond.
The service was good and staff welcoming and friendly. The food was good and the Wagyu beef was outstanding.

Visited for first time for Sunday Afternoon Tea. Restaurant tables nicely dressed but let down by paper napkins. Staff friendly and efficiently attentive. Quality and presentation of the food was disappointing, given the Fishmore's pretension to offer "one of the best afternoon teas in Shropshire." Hope their lunch and dinner performances are better than this. Afternoon saved by the waiting staff!

This was one of the best meals I've ever had. High praise indeed, but completely warranted.
The setting of the hall, just outside of Ludlow, is lovely with fine views over rolling countryside. My friends and I were seated in the conservatory which is bright and light and spacious. Tables are set with decent spacing, unlike many restaurants where they try to squeeze in extra diners, so you're sitting cheek by jowl with your neighbours. There's a gentle hum from the chat of the diners so no stuffy pretence and the overall atmosphere just adds to the contentment of the experience.
Service was excellent. We were ushered into a lounge waiting area which had very comfortable armchairs and had an excellent aperitif whilst we ordered. All nice a nd relaxed before being shown to our table.
The lobster ravioli that I had for my starter was delicious with hints of ginger that worked beautifully. The main was a traditional roast beef Sunday lunch. The beef was wagyu from mid Wales and I actually knew of the farmer so it's very locally sourced. The beef was so flavoursome and tender it almost melted in the mouth. Dessert was orange and chocolate pudding. I don't have a very sweet tooth but this had a lovely balance between the slightly bitter marmalade orange and the chocolate and pudding pastry.
When I booked, I mentioned that two of the guests were gluten intolerant and this was catered for sympathetically. I also mentioned that one of our party was celebrating her birthday and at the end of the meal a surprise tray of gorgeous homemade chocolates was brought to us. I really nice touch.
Overall, one of the best meals I've ever had so a big thank you to all at Forelles, Fishmore Hall.
