Radisson Blu in Merseyside, Liverpool offers a menu that showcases classic British cuisine. With unspoiled views across the winding River Mersey, The White Bar serves an array of cocktails courtesy of the ultra-modern White Bar.

Serving a selection of light bites and traditional British dishes, menu highlights include an aromatic sweet potato and chickpea curry, and the classic beef burger, with emmental and bacon. A good selection of hot and cold sandwiches are also served, such as blackened Cajun chicken and rocket baguette served with house fries, and English brie and grape.

For an afternoon of indulgence, try the afternoon tea, serving up a selection of fresh sandwiches, warm homemade scones and and pastries. A glass of champagne and chocolate-dipped strawberries complete the high tea option.

A 9-minute walk from Moorfields Rail Station, Radisson Blu, Liverpool sits within the city centre. River Mersey ferry station is a 12-minute walk away.

The lighting was just a bit too low and I had trouble reading the menu. There was no finess with the wine, it was just brought to the table and dumped I expected more from a 4star hotel but it was disappointingly adequate. The Ribeye steak was excellent but the battered onion rings were soft and sloshy (they should be crisp) they also lacked any flavour. I thought the wrong type of onions had been used. The service was extremely good and the waiters very polite. The only other matter was the modern lift, reception made no mention of the use of the card (door key ) needed to operate the lift. This caused a lot of frustration and during the 21 hours I stayed at the hotel at least 11 people had unwanted exasperations with the workings of the lift. Perhaps a small note or a word or two from the girl receptionists would have avoided this.

The afternoon tea was excellent, lovely sandwiches and cakes and the staff could not have been more helpful under the circumstances.

We had afternoon tea in the White Bar. Lovely but far too many cakes. Only 3 minute sandwiches each and 16 cakes! staff fine but seemed quite inexperienced.

Really nice restaurant, relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. We weren't rushed into ordering and the quality of the food is superb.

Lovely decor. I booked a table for myself and daughter for 8pm on a Friday evening and was surprised that it was so quiet. I ordered a mocktail for my 8 year old daughter and a glass of white wine for myself. I wasn't asked if I wanted a large or small glass and when I received the bill I'd been charged £5.00 for the mocktail and £8.95 for the wine, ouch!
The food was nice but again expensive. Shoulder of lamb £20, sides extra.
I would stay in the hotel again but I would eat somewhere else.
