We are regular diners at the restaurant. It's our restaurant of choice. The food is always excellent and the staff are very attentive without being intrusive.
Favourite dish for me is the rhubarb dessert.

Awarded a trio of AA Rosettes for his ground-breaking British cuisine, Mark Greenaway’s eponymously-named restaurant is one of Edinburgh’s most sought after dining spots. Once a bank vault, the custom-built cellar houses a stunning wine collection, where the sommelier invites diners to try before ordering.

Crafted in Mark Greenaway’s innovative signature style, the menu compiles regularly-changing market fresh dishes and multiple-course tasting journeys. Exquisite creations might include Loch Fyne crab cannelloni with smoked cauliflower custard, fillet of Aberdeen Angus beef with foraged mushrooms, or gingerbread and rhubarb fondant with almond ice cream. Wines can also be matched by the on-hand sommelier.

Set in a restored Georgian building, the interior is the work of acclaimed designer Adam Storey, with warm, dark teal and mahogany offset by bespoke metal pieces and brass chandeliers.

Chef Greenaway also represented Scotland in the 2012 & 2013 series of TV’s Great British Menu. Mark Greenaway restaurant in Edinburgh is a 10-minute walk from Waverley Train Station.

    When it comes to fine dining, I will always choose the steak or beef option. There was no steak on the menu and the beef option did not appeal to me once reading what accompanied it. I decided to choose a fish option which I would never do and it did not disappoint. It was fantastic! Although a small portion it was more than enough. All the different ingredients made the dish taste amazing. I was out of my comfort zone and thoroughly enjoyed it. I would even consider the 8 course menu taster option. The cheese cake for desert was delicious. Marks artwork on a plate is definitely something we will return to taste more of.

    Fabulous meal! Crab cannelloni was delicious, the pork too. And how could you not love the chocolate desert?

    Mark Greenaway, clearly puts great effort into the theatre of his menu, and successfully delivered a fun but more importantly very tasty menu. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and the staff, in particular the sommelier (manager?), were very attentive.
    Only slight negative were the gents toilets. They were clean but having wood panelling around a urinal meant the toilets could have been fresher.
    Also given Mark's clearly outstanding talent for deserts, it would have been nice to two deserts on the Bookatable menu so my wife and I could select something different and I could offer her assistance to finish.

    Very enjoyable birthday dinner with my husband...the imaginative food was 5 star..
    The service was also 5 star and the complimentary Birthday Kir was very much appreciated..

    Went on a fixed price deal for lunch including wine pairings for £40 pp and it was excellent value. The food alone cost more than the cost !
    The crab caneloni starter was excellent and there is the theatre of its presentation over a glass bowl filled with oak smoke.
    We tried two different mains in the hake with clams and cockles (which I am assured was delicious) and the pork prepared 3 ways.
    The charred loin wrapped in leek was exceptional.
    Desserts too were decent with the patrons signature chocolate "knot" and a pretty good Cheese plate. On top of all this were a range of non standard complimentary wines for each dish (and they were not the by the glass options)
    Overall thoroughly enjoyable.
