We have had the pleasure of dinning and staying at the Tormaukin many times over the years. The food and the staff are equally very good. One of my reasons for choosing this restaurant is for the excellent game dishes that are seasonally available, but unfortunately there wasn't any game dishes on the lunch menu on our visit. But what we chose and received was very good and presented to a very high standard. We will undoubtedly return and would highly recommend the Tormaukin as one of the best places to eat in the area.

Everything was excellent. Good food, good service, no one in my party had anything bad to say. We all were very satisfied.

On arrival we ordered a bottle of wine and looked through the menu – after 35 minutes, we had to look for someone to take our order and take us to our pre booked table.
My wife ordered steak and made the waitress aware the salad MUST NOT have any onions.
I ordered lemon sole with potatoes and salad. My fish arrived minus the salad.
Steak arrived but had onions in the salad. The plate was taken away and returned some considerable time later.
We both ordered the same sweet but without fresh berries. Waitress came back after 5 minutes to confirm they were out of stock. My wife looked at the ice cream +sorbet +fresh berries and biscuit, but ordered ice cream only. I ordered a sweet but without fresh berries.
Bill arrived – both sweets charged at full price and no reduction for the missed salad.
Most problems seem to have originated from the kitchen.
The quality of the food received was good.
All the above situations spoilt our evening.

Lovely meal enjoyed as the start of our holiday. There was a new waitress being inducted which we thought could have been done before the customers arrived but that did not detract from the meal.

Booking service was good. Food was OK with generous helpings, although roast potatoes were hard and appeared to have been reheated and some vege the same. A wait of 30mins before the starters arrived and slow service was not up to the usual standard expected from this establishment. On the plus side the young waitress behind the bar was very welcoming and friendly.
