The restaurant did not appear to know we had made a reservation but there were plenty of free tables. The a la cartel menu was extensive but surprisingly dominated by fish dishes. Overall our meal was fair but my leek and potato soup was poor/ tasteless and my wife commented that her scallops while tasty were a little cold. We both enjoyed our main courses (sea bass, wild boar medallions). Service was ok if a rather slow. We did not stay for coffee or desert.

We both had moules marinere which were lovely served with fresh bread & butter, I had the lamb which was served with dauphinose potato, purple sprouting broccoli & parsnip puree - beautiful dish & very good sized portion. My husband had the pork with fondant potato, red cabbage, black pudding bon bons & kale which looked & tge little bit I tried was lovely. Both dishes came with a lovely jus. I had sticky toffee pudding & ice cream - yum & home made ice cream & he had dark chocolate & sea salt caramel fondant with ice cream which was to die for! Best meal we've had in a long time! Lovely attentive experienced staff too!

Food and location is great but they will need to sort out wifi issues. I have been there several times are there is no wifi at all even although this is advertised. Very poor.

We have had the pleasure of dinning and staying at the Tormaukin many times over the years. The food and the staff are equally very good. One of my reasons for choosing this restaurant is for the excellent game dishes that are seasonally available, but unfortunately there wasn't any game dishes on the lunch menu on our visit. But what we chose and received was very good and presented to a very high standard. We will undoubtedly return and would highly recommend the Tormaukin as one of the best places to eat in the area.

Everything was excellent. Good food, good service, no one in my party had anything bad to say. We all were very satisfied.

On arrival we ordered a bottle of wine and looked through the menu – after 35 minutes, we had to look for someone to take our order and take us to our pre booked table.
My wife ordered steak and made the waitress aware the salad MUST NOT have any onions.
I ordered lemon sole with potatoes and salad. My fish arrived minus the salad.
Steak arrived but had onions in the salad. The plate was taken away and returned some considerable time later.
We both ordered the same sweet but without fresh berries. Waitress came back after 5 minutes to confirm they were out of stock. My wife looked at the ice cream +sorbet +fresh berries and biscuit, but ordered ice cream only. I ordered a sweet but without fresh berries.
Bill arrived – both sweets charged at full price and no reduction for the missed salad.
Most problems seem to have originated from the kitchen.
The quality of the food received was good.
All the above situations spoilt our evening.
