Overall quite good. When booked i wrote that i am allergic to any cream yet the standard afternoon tea for 2 arrived with mini cakes with cream. I did not return it back as we asked to pack few pieces for my partner to take it home for laters. But they really need to listen for dietary requirements. Also we received only one pot of tea for 2 however all other tables with afternoon tea had one pot per person.

Excellent afternoon tea in Conservatory. Staff friendly & attentive. We were offered more sandwiches, tea & scones & nothing was too much trouble. All in all a wonderful experience! I will definitely be back!

We booked for afternoon tea for my mum birthday. On arrival the board outside said afternoon tea did not start till 3 when we had booked for 2. We went in and asked and was told the board is wrong and needs changing. Its a bit silly to put it out if its wrong.

So we went through to the conversation which was a lovely space, sunny and bright but it was far to hot. You need to address this as it made my mother feel quite ill.

The afternoon tea itself was lovely. We would recommend a few more savoury things. The cakes were delicious and it was nice to. Get so much variety but we all said we would have swapped for a quiche or tart or even a few more sandwiches. The cheesecake was amazing and the sausage roll was delicious. Good choice of tea availability which was nice.

    Onto the staff...
Although pleasant they are clearly not held to the high standard ickworth were in the past. The girls working were wearing jean like black trousers and black trainer/pumps. They didnt quite have the finesse expected when you visit and we were a little let down by it all.
My sister worked at ickworth many years ago and spent the whole day saying how different it was now and standards are slipping.

It really is the small things that make the difference when it comes to afternoon tea. Although we enjoyed the experience on a whole we will not be returning.

All excellent. The setting, staff, food and atmosphere were wonderful. It was a birthday present for my mother and she was thrilled and would love to go again which is always a good sign.
The only thing (and it's such a small thing I hesitate to mention it) is that we all would have preferred skimmed milk in our tea due to various health issues. Semi-skimmed was offered immediately and other dietary requirements checked so that was ok.
We loved the setting and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The food was marvellous with plenty of it so we had to take home what we couldn't manage in the boxes provided. Highly recommended for a wonderful welcoming experience from all the staff in the hotel that we spoke to as well as the staff in the conservatory.

Nice setting in the conservatory. Pleasant young girl serving. Food delicious. When my cousin managed to flag down the young girl and request more water the waitress brought the jug, filled the glass and left, my glass was almost empty but she didn't think to offer. Our plates were then cleared away and no one returned. After quite a wait we decided to abandon dessert and my cousin went off to find the waitress to reqest coffee. The tea and coffee duly arrived and the girl vanished again. When we decided to leave we again hung about until the girl reappeared and we went to her service point to get a bill. More training required! The restaurant was less than 25% occupied.
