Everything was outstanding! The Tasting Menue; the standard of service; the decor; the wine.

The Whitebrook holds a Michelin star and 4 AA Rosettes. Serving modern British cuisine, the restaurant benefits from stunning views of the Wye Valley.

Using exciting ingredients foraged locally, the food is rustic but creative. Start with squab pigeon with cauliflower, rhubarb and bitter leaves, or flame-grilled mackerel fillet with baked apple, pickled cucumber and laver seaweed. Amongst the exquisitely presented mains are suckling pig with pine nut purée, violet artichokes and hop shoots, and the featherblade of Longhorn beef with quinoa, kohlrabi, nettle and horseradish. The Whitebrook taster menu offers an intriguing array of wild produce, with the option of carefully selected wines to accompany the dishes.

Décor at The Whitebrook Monmouth is rustic but sophisticated, with exposed wooden beams, wooden flooring and neutral colours. Both the restaurant and the tranquil terrace enjoy views of the surrounding countryside.

On the doorstep of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, The Whitebrook restaurant sits in a beautiful rural location. The town of Monmouth is a 13-minute drive away.

2nd visit was even better than first. Original flavours and great service. Crab dish is wow.

Excellent Sunday lunch. The set menu - two choices at each of three courses - was very good value at £35. The wine list offers a good selection of wines at very reasonable prices. Stunning location. Excellent service and helpful advice on wines from Genaro

it was a lovely break after a long day in the car - especially liked the salmon and the fact that fish predominated - while not a vegetarian I dont eat a lot of meat so what you served was perfect. the buttermilk icecream was the other outstanding dish and those delicious maritime pine leaves

my only negative comment would be that there might be slightly too much salt in some of the dishes - just a dash too much perhaps but that is probably because we eat much less salt these days and get used to not having much

As always, really delicious food and a warm, friendly welcome. This is still my favourite place to eat even though we have so many wonderful choices in South Wales.

What an absolutely incredible lunchtime- we were transported through a 'Spring' tasting menu with wine in such a secluded and special setting in Whitebrook. The service was impeccable, but to expected at this special Michelin starred venue. The chef and his team do not disappoint and it's certainly with a visit if your stopping locally in the area. I feel the pear pudding was my particular favorite of the whole sitting, a beautifully crafted desert which finished our experience in style.

Strangely quiet.Only 4 tables booked. Couldn't fault the food, the asparagus being without doubt my favourite dish and the lamb my husbands but would question the use of stoneware crockery? Not really in keeping with the style of the decor and the cutlery makes a TERRIBLE noise on it. Also a VERY long evening - 3.5hrs with long waits before it even began and then between each course. VERY hard to find restaurant using Satnav - apparently postcode doesn't work??- very glad we came looking for it the day before or we might never have found it at all.
