The Whitebrook holds a Michelin star and 4 AA Rosettes. Serving modern British cuisine, the restaurant benefits from stunning views of the Wye Valley.

Using exciting ingredients foraged locally, the food is rustic but creative. Start with squab pigeon with cauliflower, rhubarb and bitter leaves, or flame-grilled mackerel fillet with baked apple, pickled cucumber and laver seaweed. Amongst the exquisitely presented mains are suckling pig with pine nut purée, violet artichokes and hop shoots, and the featherblade of Longhorn beef with quinoa, kohlrabi, nettle and horseradish. The Whitebrook taster menu offers an intriguing array of wild produce, with the option of carefully selected wines to accompany the dishes.

Décor at The Whitebrook Monmouth is rustic but sophisticated, with exposed wooden beams, wooden flooring and neutral colours. Both the restaurant and the tranquil terrace enjoy views of the surrounding countryside.

On the doorstep of the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean, The Whitebrook restaurant sits in a beautiful rural location. The town of Monmouth is a 13-minute drive away.

First visit on Sunday 23/10 and what a gem we have uncovered! My partner and I had the Tasting Menu and it was the best 3 hour lunch I can remember in a very long time. Great serve, fantastic choice and cuisine of the highest order. Cannot recommend this jewel of a place too highly. We loved it and will be back soon.
Very many thanks for a memorable experience.

Excellent meal and great value with the Suckling Pig dish a stand out. Skillful use of herbs, flowers and berries to enhance the dishes

The food was excellent in parts, but a bit samey and there wasn't a shop stopper course.
The dining room was physically and emotionally cold.
The service was much too slow and no one acknowledged this as a problem. Although it clearly was. We didn't eat our pudding until 11:30, having been booked at 8:30. By then I was exhausted and not able to enjoy what was presented.

We were made to feel very welcome from the start. The canapés we had while waiting for our meal were truly delicious and we appreciated the little extra tasters between courses. I had the Cornish Crab to start. While I enjoyed it I think there could have been more emphasis on the brown crabmeat pate. I liked the toasted sweet corn but felt it slightly overwhelmed the white crabmeat.
The pork was gorgeous and the violet parfait, well, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Although the recommended dessert wine was not available, the Framlingham? alternative was excellent. I really appreciated being given the choice between that and the wine recommended for the raspberry dessert.
Overall, each one of us thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine and our evening with you. Thank you also for helping with getting our taxi organised, your friendliness and humour and for taking a photo to remember our evening.
