Housed in a former 15th-century flour mill, Restaurant at Mill End Hotel crafts modern English cuisine in a fine dining setting. At this charming and sophisticated retreat, picturesque al fresco dining can be experienced in the hotel’s lush garden.

The Restaurant at Mill End Hotel menu features decadent dishes such as freshly caught, roasted wild sea bass with seared scallops and chorizo cassoulet, or succulent fillet of South Devon beef with braised oxtail, creamy wasabi mash and caramelised shallots. Fresh local game and locally sourced fish from the Devon and Cornish coasts feature heavily, and there is a selection of West Country cheeses from the trolley.

An elegant Dartmoor countryhouse, the Mill End Hotel's restaurant has many tranquil lounge areas with cosy open fires, and a popular afternoon tea is also served. Enjoy lunches of gourmet sandwiches or multiple-course set menus, while evening menus are served by candlelight, with matching fine wines also on offer.

Showcasing the finest of English cuisine, Restaurant at Mill End Hotel in Devon also has its own brand of mineral water.

We had a very enjoyable lunch in a very lovely location. The staff were very accommodating and welcoming and we enjoyed our after lunch drinks in the garden. There are also some very lovely walks along the river Teign which unfortunately we did't have the time to enjoy.

Excellent lunch - wide choice of dishes, beautifully presented and courteously served.
A minor comment: Older folk do prefer smaller portions. especially of meat. We don't like to waste food, or disappoint the Chef by leaving excess.

Wonderful afternoon tea with little extra savouries, extremely tasty, good quality food. Served afternoon tea in the wonderful sunny garden.Good service, but the only thing letting it down was after being served, the staff did not return and I had to go search for someone for an extra pot of tea.Average booking

a great experience from the pre dinner drinks in the comfy friendly lounge served by attentive staff to being shown to our table. The food was scrumptious as was the local Devon wine to compliment it, so much so we had to have a second bottle.

Came here for a birthday lunch for five. The very pleasant decor and comfy country house surroundings make for a real upgrade on the usual pub meal experience, and yet with two courses for £19.50 it barely costs more. The food (particularly the desserts) was good, copious piping hot coffee, and the service was faultless and friendly. The only quibble was that on a cold February day the central heating wasn't quite up to the job and the dining room was on the cool side. The sitting room (where we had drinks before and coffee afterwards) was warmer, although management's attempts to light the open fire had to be abandoned as it was too smoky.
