Lovely ambience, food tasty. My only criticism is that the cod on the set menu was extremely small. Was still hungry when I got home

Cool, trendy bar, not too busy. Good music. Restaurant service below average mainly due to one new Spanish waiter who was clearly struggling. Food was below average. My duck was overcooked. Food served on cold plates so food soon went cold. Wine we requested wasn't available. Head here if you want somewhere trendy in Shoreditch, not if you're looking for a 5 star dining experience.

We booked in at 18:00 and were served within minutes. Friendly staff. When the meal came it was mouthwatering. I had the beef and it has got to be the best I have tasted. My wife had the salmon and she thought it was fantastic. The dessert was just to die for.

Dined at 730pm, and had probably some of the best service in London, in a while. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgable. The meal came out promptly. He was attentive without being overbearing. Everything seemed to be moving with the effortless, clockwork precision one expects of a classy, top restaurant. All acheived without being stuffy or pretentous - result! Well done. The meal was fantastic (steak done to perfection). Lamb and gnocchi spot on! Great ambiance - I especially liked the wood and leather effect, that gave the venue a serious, sophisticated and yet rather comfortable and cool atmosphere (who knew that was possible). Quite impressed. The Steve McQueen memorabilia was well placed. Will definitely be back! Only minor point was having to weave through the crowded bar to get in and out - a dedicated restaurant door would be an added bonus.

Had dinner at 8 pm on a Wednesday during restaurant week. Bar and decor was fabulous. Service was so slow; waited an hour for our mains and never got one side we ordered b/c we couldn't be bothered to ask for it and then wait forever for it. Heard another table complaining about waiting.
