Housed within the famous grounds of Old Trafford, home to Manchester United, Red Café champions British fare along with a handful of European-inspired dishes. Stretching televisions screen football live from the pitch, while players often frequent the restaurant, making it a firm favourite amongst football fans.

Fried baby squid leads the starters on the Red Café menu, seasoned with salt and pepper and paired with Thai mayonnaise and lime, together with succulent buffalo wings tossed in a tangy barbecue glaze and served with a blue cheese dip. A full rack of tender baby back pork ribs heads the main courses, cooked straight from the grill and served in a sticky barbecue sauce, accompanied by creamy coleslaw, ranch beans and chunky chips.

Red dominates the colour scheme in keeping with the team’s home kit, while Manchester United memorabilia lines the walls. Chairs are adorned with player’s names, and muted, red lighting is a nod to the club’s crest.

Right in the heart of the iconic stadium, Red Café in Manchester houses the Manchester United museum and is a 4-minute walk away from Manchester United Football Ground Rail Station.

We were quickly contacted about our booking, and our requests dealt with - effectively and in a friendly fashion. We were welcomed by the manager and well taken care of for the whole of our stay - at a reserved table, even though the Restaurant and Cafe were preparing for the match-day "INVASION" ( IT WAS BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY AND MAN U WERE HOSTING CHELSEA!!) The 3 of us much enjoyed our drinks, starters and main meals. If I were to have a small criticism it would be that the 2 of us who had Fish & Chips found that the portions were significantly smaller than those e had we had enjoyed previously - in the Restaurant.....but perhaps that was on a different Menu and at a higher price...?!?
