Staff very friendly and helpful! Food was lovely it was a shame the front part of the restaurant looking out to the castle was closed as the inside bit was quite dark but the staff and food made up for it x

Located in the heart of Cardiff city centre, Grey serves locally sourced food and gins in a bright, chic setting. Magnificent views from the glass-fronted restaurant look out onto Cardiff Castle.

A superb stock of local ingredients is used to craft the rich flavours on Grey’s menu. Local specialties include Cefn Mawr Farm steaks cooked and served on Himalayan salt stones, plus 'Eccentric Gins': crafted locally and drawn from water underground, then matched with tonics and glamorous martini cocktails. Grey presents an on-trend retreat for sampling Welsh flavours.

Grey offers various social and dining experiences, with dining offered from morning through to late evening. Inside, feminine touches and contemporary tones make for a film-set-style ambience.

Both the New Theatre and the expansive greenery of Bute Park are 3 minutes’ walk away.

Hi, I would like to make a complaint.
I booked for afternoon tea for 3 people on the 10/08/16 and quite frankly I am appalled with the service I received.

On arrival, we were greeted and rushed to a tiny round table not adequate for afternoon tea. I understand that the Razzi restaurant is undergoing refurbishment but the table to were given was embarrassing. Although having pre-booked the standard afternoon tea, our table was not set up for this. Our table was dressed with prosecco glasses, even though this had not been booked. This was embarrassing as I had booked the standard afternoon tea as a treat for my Nan, and on arrival, I had to explain to her that I had not paid the extra for prosecco - how humiliating. The table should have been set up for our reservation.

When the afternoon tea and coffee arrived, I was embarrassed that the coffee was Costa coffee - it felt as if I was in a common cafe, not the Hilton Hotel! As for the afternoon tea cakes and sandwiches, this arrived on the wooden stand as expected, however, as mentioned previously, this was too big to accommodate our table.

Having 2 stands of afternoon tea on this tiny table meant that we were cramped, unable to clearly see the afternoon tea and one another as this took up too much room on the table.

On a previous experience, the waiters were attentive and asking whether we would like more tea/coffee. However, on this occasion the staff were not useful. In fact, I had to walk to the bar and ask for a tea myself - what a shambles.

When the bill arrived, this was wrong and I had to point out to the staff that they had overcharged us.

Overall, this was an utterly disappointing experience and I am ashamed that the Hilton Hotel would cause such an embarrassment whilst dining for my nan's birthday celebration.

I did not want to complain on the day as I did not want to ruin the day anymore for my nan and I felt completely embarrassed by how we had been treated.

Disappointing experience all round. The sandwiches were average. The cheese and tomato sandwiches and the salmon sandwiches were tasty whereas the egg mayonnaise sandwich lacked filling and the ham in the ham sandwich was paper thin but thick on butter. Having booked an afternoon tea for two, I was expecting to receive two of everything. Instead, we only had one carrot cake, chocolate cake, roly-poly and custard, syllabub, macaroon and crème brulee. There were however, two Welsh cakes and two scones with jam and clotted cream. There was a wide range of teas available. We opted for English breakfast which came with a novel card encouraging us to allow the tea to brew for the correct amount of time. When we asked for a second pot and left it again for the recommended time, through the transparent tea pot the tea bag appeared to give off little colour. Even after stirring the tea bag there appeared very little colour or flavour leading us question whether hot water had just been added to the original tea bags.

I had booked Afternoon Tea for my daughter for her 16th birthday. I had sent a note with my booking letting the hotel know about this. when we arrived we were shown to our seats which was in the glass conservatory, a little bit warm in the hot weather but beautifully set out. The afternoon tea was lovely, a good selection of cakes and very reasonably priced. My daughter and I had a lovely day together, at the end, one of the waiters brought out a chocolate cupcake with a candle in it and a happy birthday mini chocolate, it was very nice. I would definitely recommend the Razzi Restaurant. A lovely experience thank you.

I booked this for a baby shower and we had the Welsh afternoon tea. The staff were extremely accommodating and the service was above and beyond. The food was lovely and presented really well. We had a great afternoon and would highly recommend to anyone else.
