Surprisingly quiet for a Wednesday night. My wife chose the salmon duo and the Tiffin seabass which was beautiful as always and I had the lamb starter followed by Nadan kozhi chicken curry which had a good kick to it. The speciality bread basket was superb.
Charming waiters and excellent food and wine.

My wife and I took a friend for a celebratory meal at Purple Poppadom, Canton, Cardiff using the Lunch & Early evening (5.30-6.30) 2 courses (starter + main course) £15 per person offer. On this occasion, as on previous ones,100% for taste experience. On the internet we have seen a few people complain that portion sizes at PP and very similar, equally excellent sister restaurant Mint & Mustard (Heath, Cardiff, also Penarth, Weston & Taunton) are too small. Unless you have an appetite like chaser Mark Labett, don't take any notice of this - you won't have a huge amount of room left for one of their equally delicious desserts - especially if you add on the irresistible coconut flavoured Peshwari naan. If your appetite is really enormous, the taster menu is not to be missed, though for most people the quantity is simply too much for the digestion.

Excellent food, outstanding, my compliments to the chef. Location disappointing, service - felt rushed, we asked for a glass 3 times and finally got one on the third request. Whilst in the middle of eating our pudding we were asked if we wanted coffee or more drinks, we said not thank you, within 5 mins the bill was placed on our table and we hadn't even finished. That was rude. A party of 25+ men had arrived and were extremely noisy and it looked like they were more important to serve. Such a shame as it spoilt a very nice dining experience
