Situated in a Victorian redbrick building, Michelin-starred Purnell’s restaurant in Birmingham is a chic and contemporary dining space. Seamlessly fusing the heritage of its residence with modern accents in the dining room, the stylish restaurant space is flooded with natural light from the classically-Victorian arched windows.

With the living room restaurant space dedicated to sociable and relaxed fine dining, the Purnell’s menu offers a variety of inventive ‘Brummie tapas’ dishes, ideal for sharing. Sample dishes include spiced potato and lime croquettes with duck egg mayonnaise, and neck of lamb with capers and basil emulsion.

A selection of tasting menus are also available at the West Midlands restaurant, offering dishes such as tail fillet of beef rolled in liquorice charcoal, and waffles with foie gras butter with crispy chicken skin. A classic 3 or 5-course lunch menu offers contemporary British cuisine, such as duck breast with apple and celeriac puree, and roasted plaice with confit tomato and pickled shallots.

Offering informal fine dining and Michelin-starred cuisine, Purnell’s in Birmingham sits 6 minutes’ walk from Snow Hill train station. Diners are required to be of smart casual attire.

Good food, worth the one-michelin star. My favourite dish is the desert, rhubarb tart give a burst of spring in your mouth; the caramelised tarragon in the desert is also a surprise.

Food was excellent we had the four course option if i had to pick out my favorite dish it would be the duck it was really beautifully cooked but i have to say my husband loved the cod dish all the dishes we has were cooked perfectly and served beautifully you could see the great care that went into the presentation of all the dishes that were served, do not wont to miss out on saying that the home cooked bread was to die for had to stop ourselves from eating too much as we wanted to leave room for the food, the staff were super very well trained, I have to say I could not fault a single thing and hope to come back sometime in coming year

A dining experience to remember. Celebrating with a friend, we were treated to top class service from the moment we walked through the door. Our wine chosen by Sonal perfectly matched the delicious selection from the 5 course grazing menu. Every course was beautifully presented and tasted sensational. Even a course devoted to a humble heritage carrot was a tasty tribute. They say that you eat with your eyes and Purnells certainly knows how to present food that tastes as beautiful as it looks on the plate. An extra special touch was meeting Glynn himself, who popped out of the kitchen to present a copy of his latest book Rib Ticklers & Choux-ins for my friends birthday. A lovely surprise was a delicate mango sorbet with a white chocolate lid, scattered with small edible flowers. If you want to enjoy top class food, drink and customer service in Birmingham visit
Glynn & his team at Purnells and enjoy some 'Brum Love' ?
