With an award-winning menu, Positano Restaurant specialises in southern Italian cuisine, serving dishes from risotto to creative fish recipes. The Elizabethan building boasts a fantastic history, authentic original décor, and a well-stocked bar.
Offering healthy recipes using fresh and natural ingredients, the Positano menu is vast. The tasty dishes include spaghetti con cozze, with succulent mussels submerged in white wine, chilli, garlic and parsley. Another favourite fish dish is the caciucco di pesce, a traditional Italian dish with an array of mussels, calamari, sword fish, tiger prawns and langoustine, muddled in a cherry tomato and white wine sauce. For non-fish eaters, a selection of veal, beef, risotto and pizzas is also available and Positano restaurant prepares all dishes fresh to order.
The simple décor, with wood panelled walls and exposed beams, makes a great backdrop for relaxing with a cocktail or glass of wine from the bar.
A 4-minute drive from Guildford Rail Station, Positano Restaurant in Guildford offers authentic Italian dining.

Visited for lunch. I was surprised at how busy it was - a good sign.

Party of four - friends and former colleagues - liked the feel of the place, the quirkiness of the building, nice atmosphere, attentive but not intrusive staff. Staff pleasant and amicable, service was good and timely. There was lots of choice from the menu, difficult to choose as all sounded good - choices - mushroom tagliatelle, salmon, vitello al marsala, and linguini allo scoglio - all were delicious. Desserts were great too - cheesecake, custard gelatin plus some others. Quiet in the early evening, but got very busy around 8pm and a bit noisy.

A pre-booked visit for lunch during a shopping visit to Guildford. Very pleasant staff and surroundings. We took advantage of the special two-course lunch menu which was excellent value. Service was swift and efficient and the food was great. we may go back another day for an evening meal

The food was great, we had the special and also two choices from the menu and everything was brilliant! Great service, the waiter was super nice and kind. It was my gf's birthday and they put a candle on the desert and sang her happy birthday, that was so thoughtful!

On a wet and windy lunchtime Positano was warm, friendly and welcoming. We had the set lunch which is excellent value. The wines are reasonably priced. Staff all very friendly. We shall be back!

Service was excellent, very attentive, food arrived quickly, piping hot (this is whet you expect but when dining out it's not what you always get!). The food was superb can't fault it.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The food was well prepared and everyone in our party of 8 enjoyed their dishes, some from the al a carte and some from the set menu (2 courses £9.95 excellent value). The deserts were all delicious.
The restaurant was full which created a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend to visitors and residents of Guildford. Only one minor downside was no highchairs for a 1yr old. This was made clear at the time of booking by the staff. I can see why this is so as the restaurant is in a very old building (17th C?) and the dining rooms are small and characterful so difficult to accommodate highchairs.
