Creating a wonderful fusion of modern British dishes with strong Italian influences, Porro is a sleek, contemporary setting that celebrates regional ingredients and social dining.
The Porro menu brings together Italian staples with regional recipes – favourites include roasted belly pork with fennel and apple purée, roast squash and salsa verde, and pasta recipes like pappardelle with braised Welsh ox cheek and parmesan. There are dishes perfect for sharing, like Monmouthshire lamb and Herefordshire pork meatball, as well as roasted artichoke, speck de montagne and anchovy pizza.
Carefully sourced wines feature at Porro Cardiff, as well as a selection of beers and ciders. On the Porro dessert menu, there are irresistible sweets like almond, lemon and orange cake with mascarpone, and dark chocolate torte with salted chocolate sauce and hazelnut ice cream.
Offering a perfect blend of British and Mediterranean flavours, Porro sits on the bustling Llandaff High Street, 4 minutes' drive from Fairwater Rail Station.

Hi Porto - over all we had a very nice time and will come back again. Couple of points - we had to ask for a drink about 10 minutes after we arrived, would have been nice to have been offered one before that. Food tasted very good but presentation could have improved maybe? The pork dish looked drab but tasted good. The starter I had was served on toasted bread, which was fine, but it was obviously just a slice of bread from a loaf which looked a bit ordinary. But overall very nice thanks. Staff very nice.

Very nice meal, lovely food. Quite a long wait for the starter but the food was great and service was good too. Lovely setting too. Could improve by having a better choice for vegetarians and have draught beer.

I unfortunately have big restrictions on my diet for medical reasons. Porro could not have been more accommodating - they made a huge effort to prepare food I could eat - I could not have asked for more. Thank you so much.

Good service, and a tasty, enjoyable lunch at a price that represented solid value.
To be picky, some parts of the set menu felt a little too obviously like the design of the dishes had been designed to the price point - for example, the three dessert options were all variations on ice cream! To my mind, I would have preferred to pay a couple of pounds more for a more imaginative selection.

Service wasn't great, had to try and catch attention on a couple of occasions.

Food and service was generally very good with great surroundings. Menu was limited especially if you expecting traditional Italian dishes cause you won't find them

First time at the restaurant. Heard great reviews about it on social media and friends so decided to try it for dinner with my wife.
Very tastefully decorated with a warm welcoming feel to the place. Maintaining The brick walls throughout was a great touch. Perhaps I wouldn't have had a partition as soon as you enter the restaurant as the first thing greeting you but that's a small detail.
For starters had the carrot and beetroot salad with goats cheese and my wife the lamb and pork meatball which was devine. We both had the Welsh lamb and pork belly crackling and lentils as mains. Fantastic dish! Beautiful welsh lamb cooked medium rare with lovely kale and salty lentils which went very well with the dish. We had some greens with lemon and parmesan cheese as a side, never had parmesan on vegetables before and it's great. The portion sizes are good (and I eat) so you could get away without the side.
For desert I had the chocolate torte with salty chocolate sauce and hazelnut ice cream. Very rich and moorish. My wife had ice cream with a shot of espresso.
The bill was 71 quid including 2 drinks which in my opinion is a reasonable amount to pay for 3 courses each of excellent food.
We had a mix up with our bill and how I asked for my lamb to be cooked but that has affected our experience. Lovely and helpful staff and nothing was too much to deal with.
Highly recommended and looking forward to making Porro a regular.
