The skate was excellent and the espresso and walnut cheesecake was unbelievably good

A seafood specialist, Poopdeck Restaurant is a rustic harbourside restaurant in Brixham. All manner of freshly-caught maritime delights feature within the restaurant’s earthy, terracotta-coloured interior, which is decorated with chunky ship’s anchors and fishing nets.

International recipes come together on the Poopdeck menu, with Brixham seafood curry starring alongside moules marinière and gently grilled rock salmon with toasted fennel seeds, roasted artichoke and pesto drizzle. The famous ‘Neptune’s feast’ is a hot shellfish platter of half lobster, crevettes, crab, scallops, king prawns, mussels and oyster, while meatier options include prime local steaks, braised shoulder of lamb and chicken with creamed leeks.

A selection of fine international wines accompanies the menu at the Poopdeck Restaurant in Brixham, which also boasts a comprehensive range of cognacs, malt whiskies, ports, and liqueurs. There’s a special 6-course tasting menu and a wide range of daily-changing specials.

The Poopdeck Restaurant is on The Quay, a little way down the coast from Paignton and 5 miles from Dartmouth.

Fantastic meal, neptunes feast, certainly was a feast. Lobster, crab, scallops, oysters, mussels, shell on prawns, crevettes . WOW
Difficult access if you have mobility problems.

Lovely friendly helpful waitress. Had the 6 course taster menu at lunchtime . Well presented and good efficient timing between the courses.Discovered I don't like mussels!!!! Vegetables weren't up to the same standard as the rest of the meal; overcooked broccoli and dry carrots but the pudding compensated for that! Would I visit again? Not sure.

Good lobster & Steak. Crab claws were small & mushrooms were tinned. Upstairs so not suitable for some disabilities

Disappointed our table was squashed into a corner.
Long wait for food on the table One hour from sitting.
Fish dishes were fine but veg was not good.
We had previously visited and loved the place, people and food and on this occasion took our friends who were visiting from France.
    A very embarrassing experience.

We both had the lemon sole lunchtime special with the prawns in paprika never had that before and it was absolutely delicious

The ambience was that of a cafe inside - quite basic. The 2 waitresses were excellent - friendly and jovial but the food was mediocre and very dissappointing for what was supposedly ultra fresh fish. My lobster was chewey and my wife's hake and squid rings were tasteless.
