Set in the vibrant city of Edinburgh, Pomegranate restaurant is nestled at the top of Leith Walk. Inspired by the kitchens of the Middle East and North Africa, Pomegranate also offers a secluded decking area to enjoy the relaxing flavours of shisha.

Paying homage to the cuisine of countries like Lebanon and Morocco, the Pomegranate menu offers colourful sharing-style dishes and traditional main courses. Hot and cold mezze dishes include seasoned mince lamb, mixed with sultanas and encased in crushed rice, whilst the mains include succulent chicken breast, marinated in tomatoes and turmeric with a hint of green chilli & parsley.

Drawing on influence from the Middle East, the warm ambience of Pomegranate in Edinburgh is enhanced by vibrant hanging lanterns and cosy Arabic-style cushions. Lounge in the confines of the private terrace, and choose from an array of non-alcoholic wines and beers, or traditional Arabic coffee and cha.

Pomegranate in Leith is only a 10-minute walk from Edinburgh Rail Station.

Great tasting food as always. This time decided to just have meze instead of meze for starter then shwarma for main. Had the set meze for 2 which is 6 meze, 2 can be meat all served with naan. Lots to choose from so took a while to narrow it down to 6! Lovely tasting food, missed the shwarma plate so will have to go back ?? Attentive service even although it was very busy. Happy customer.

Attention to detail amazing, service fantastic with delightful and delicious food. Appreciated care and knowledge re food allergies, other restaurants could learn a lot from the Pomegranate.

Lovely food, but service very slow and we thought we'd been forgotten about several times. 3 hours for 3 people to eat 2 courses and pay is too long

My friend and I chose the mezze for 2; this allowed us to choose 6 different mezze dishes, 2 of which could be meat. It came with a very large but light nan-style flatbread. It was all delicious, well presented and the waiter's recommendations were spot on. We followed it up with lovely ice cream and baklava, which came with it's own rose-flavoured sorbet. It was all really delicious. The staff were genuinely friendly and spent time engaging were their customers. As a result, the restaurant had a great homely atmosphere. We took a bottle of chilled white wine with us. It seems strange they don't have, or choose not to, have a licence for alcohol, but it certainly made a pleasant change when the bill came. If I lived in Edinburgh I could see this being a regular haunt, but as a seasonal visitor, I'll most definitely return.
