Bringing sumptuous Persian delights to the leafy suburb of Didsbury, Pomegranate offers a homely yet fashionable retreat. As well as a comprehensive selection from the mosaic-tiled bar, guests can enjoy regular poetry readings.

Evoking the prolific culinary heritage of Persia, the Pomegranate menu is filled with wholesome, home-cooked offerings. Moreish house specialities include chicken with walnut and pomegranate, marinated lamb with rich coco beans, or smoked aubergine with freshly baked bread.

As well as traditional Middle Eastern desserts like baklava, Pomegranate offers a twist on traditional recipes, like silky panna cotta and rich cheesecake. Cleansing homemade sorbets are served at Pomegranate Didsbury, whilst traditional Persian ice cream is made to a traditional recipe of clotted cream, pistachio and saffron.

Authentic yet fashionable, the Pomegranate restaurant dining room features ornate stained glass lanterns, rich embroidered fabric and chunky wood furnishings. East Didsbury Rail Station is a 7-minute drive away.

Cosy atmosphere with interesting interior design. Unique dishes - some more tasty that others. Friendly staff. Overall a great place for a Friday night meal.

It was our second visit and once again we were delighted by this restaurant. Wonderful service and delicious food, the atmosphere was warm and cosy with beautiful lanterns of mosaic coloured glass and the music soft without being intrusive. I particularly liked the Mirza starter and the lamb with beans and herbs was also tasty. Large portions so no room for a sweet! Would definitely recommend this for people wanting a small and friendly restaurant with a pleasant ambience and reasonable prices.

Food and service was fantastic. We ordered a chicken curry dish and a mixed kebab. Would have loved to have some sauce with the kebab as I don't like dry food. They didn't have any which was the only reason i've awarded 4 stars, but it was delish anyway.

Lovely, intimate little restaurant with warm and pretty decor.
My friend and I shared the Musto Masir with a chilli naan - dip was gorgeous and creamy and the naan flavoursome and light - and the Marchobeh with goat's cheese - yum!
Mains were Bademjooni (lamb was lovely and tender) and the Shah Maygoo Chello (big juicy prawns and the sauce was to die for!) Definitely worth a visit.
