A bijou hideaway in the heart of the city, POLPO Brighton is a laidback, rustic Italian restaurant. Open frontage in warmer weather and pavement tables evoke a continental feel, while the interior has a trendy, reclaimed feel.

Reminiscent of Venice’s charming backstreet restaurants, POLPO specialises in Venetian small plates and spritz. Hand-rolled meatballs, freshly-stretched pizzettes and fresh colourful salads head up the menu. The main menu varies with the seasons and favourite creations include cuttlefish & squid ink risotto with gremolata, roast stuffed pork, lentils & radicchio and crab & chilli linguine. For dessert, choose from a variety of classics, such as tiramisu or Venetian ricotta doughnuts with cinnamon sugar.

In addition to the main menu, POLPO Brighton offers a great value all-day set menu, and daily changing specials to look out for on the blackboard. Aperitivo Time takes place every day from 4-6pm. Sip on a refreshing Spritz and enjoy some delicious bar snacks like black truffle crisps & Bella di Cerignola olives, for just £5.

A favourite neighbourhood restaurant, the Brighton POLPO is an 11-minute walk from Brighton Train Station.

Felt that our waitress couldn't care less about us, our starter plates arrived after we had finished our starters, crab liquine lacked the crab.
Really enjoyed the house red, great value for the price, but the service needs to be addressed

I'd booked a table for a 'date night'. Upon arriving I was told that there were no tables & there was no way to provide me with an indication of when we'd be seated. We were left in the bar area for an hour. The only reason we didn't walk about was that we realised that on a Saturday night at 9pm we'd be pushed to find anywhere else that would seat us. Generally, you'd expect a glass of wine whilst waiting at the bar for an hour, but no. Very disappointed. Will not be returning to this place.

Ok but food was average crab linguini had no crab in it so sent it back. Waiting staff handled it well and got a new dish that was average as well. Nice venue. Staff nice average food and need to up the game. It was just a bit of a chain restaurant catering taste. Happy to pay more for better food

Welcome food and service excellent! However Bellini in a tumbler very disappointing . Tonic water was flat.
Wine very good. A wonderful evening food was well presented and we had a great evening so thank you!

Food was great. Particularly pleased with the wide selection of 50cl wine carafe, rather than just the house option - look forward to coming back!
