A bijou hideaway in the heart of the city, POLPO Brighton is a laidback, rustic Italian restaurant. Open frontage in warmer weather and pavement tables evoke a continental feel, while the interior has a trendy, reclaimed feel.
Reminiscent of Venice’s charming backstreet restaurants, POLPO specialises in Venetian small plates and spritz. Hand-rolled meatballs, freshly-stretched pizzettes and fresh colourful salads head up the menu. The main menu varies with the seasons and favourite creations include cuttlefish & squid ink risotto with gremolata, roast stuffed pork, lentils & radicchio and crab & chilli linguine. For dessert, choose from a variety of classics, such as tiramisu or Venetian ricotta doughnuts with cinnamon sugar.
In addition to the main menu, POLPO Brighton offers a great value all-day set menu, and daily changing specials to look out for on the blackboard. Aperitivo Time takes place every day from 4-6pm. Sip on a refreshing Spritz and enjoy some delicious bar snacks like black truffle crisps & Bella di Cerignola olives, for just £5.
A favourite neighbourhood restaurant, the Brighton POLPO is an 11-minute walk from Brighton Train Station.

we love it here - this was our 2nd visit. lovely relaxed atmosphere but still feels special/a treat. highly knowledge and nice staff. beautiful, simple food, priced appropriately.
my only complaint would be that my pork dish was a little on the bland side. but didnt detract from overall experience and the fact that all the other food was totally delicious.

As good as the Polpo in Farringdon: excellent service, the food was as good as ever and the Verdicchio was spot on.

Lovely food, lovely staff, just want to return for more delicious food & wine next time. Daily specials are always worth having. Wine list is perfect. Concept of having small dishes rather than 1 big dish of food means you can try something different every time you order.

Exceptional food - not a bad dish there. Of note - the goats curd cicheti, the beetroot cured salmon and the cod cheeks! Absolutely sublime.

Service was brilliant, staff helpful and friendly but not over attentive. Pork and fennel meatballs delicious- I need to know the secret of the sauce!!

Felt that our waitress couldn't care less about us, our starter plates arrived after we had finished our starters, crab liquine lacked the crab.
Really enjoyed the house red, great value for the price, but the service needs to be addressed
