Was a lovely meal as usual. Was very busy and to wait for an unusally long time for food.

A forming hunting lodge of Elizabeth I built in 1596, Plume of Feathers Tewin is a cosy, rustic pub that is apparently haunted. Inside, there are roaring log fires and exposed wooden beams, while outside there is a tranquil beer garden.

Specialising in trusty, home-cooked British recipes, the Plume of Feathers menu is made up of time-honoured classics and inventive chef’s specials. The signature beef & ale pie is a creation from much-loved celebrity chef Tom Kerridge, while favourite world flavours include sizzling steak fajitas, or aubergine and roast beetroot curry. Gourmet sandwiches and jacket potatoes are served throughout the day, and guests can round things off with an indulgent crumble, cheesecake or sundae.

The drinks list at Plume of Feathers pub features carefully-chosen beers and international wines, and a lengthy list of soft drinks. Younger diners are not forgotten, with a varied menu for both lunch and dinner, and a mini roast served on Sundays.

Also boasting a great selection of cask ales, Plume of Feathers is only 12 minutes' drive from Welwyn Garden City Rail Station.

The Dining room opened up onto the garden, with a beautiful view of the Hertfordshire countryside,. It was a balmy August evening, a round table for the 6 of us, Perfect......
Except that the service was sooooooo slow, coupled with various dishes that we ordered being unavailable. Not that the waitress told us that at the time of ordering. The kitchen should make sure that the front of house staff know what's off the menu to avoid additional delay.
Having said all that, the food, when it arrived, was well presented & very tasty, just spoilt by the interminable delays.
    What restaurant runs out of
    cream by the way ????

It was good yesterday at the Plume of Feathers.T.he food was delicious, John particularly enjoyed the steak he had. My fish was very good. We shared a chocolate fudge pudding. Glad we shared as the portion was very generous.
The price was , as always very reasonable. A stroll in garden to admire the views finished it off.
Thank you for an enjoyable 47th wedding anniversary lunch!!!!

Food was lovely but we had to wait for over an hour for our main meal.

Lovely pub, restaurant and beer garden, friendly staff...but not enough of them. Table of 7 people (4 adults, 3 kids) Arrived at 12:30pm, ordered our food at 12:55pm and we finally received our (cold) meals at 2:10pm by which point we were too hungry to complain. We were told when we ordered that it could be up to 30 minutes....had we known it would be 1hr & 15mins when our kids were absolutely starving then we would have gone elsewhere. Our dirty plates were left on the table so we moved them to the table next to us to stop the flies & wasps attacking the food left on the plates.

Using your system was a disaster! When we arrived the Restaurant had no record of our booking. They were extremely busy and were extremely helpful in finding a table of six for us. Something is not working rtight!
