From crusty breads through to dainty petit fours, Plate & Porter restaurant is proud to offer a solely homemade menu. A stunning repertoire of perfected classic desserts includes a trio of chocolate crème brulee, ice cream and mousse, or lemon tart with meringue ice cream.

Excellent Friday evening spent at the Plate & Porter - March.

From the minute of arriving until the point of leaving the service we received was exceptional. Lovely friendly atmosphere, with the staff being professional in every way.

Excellent choice of menu that was not your usual run of the mill selection. All food for our party of 8 was cooked to perfection.

Not one person had a negative comment to say about the evening.
    Definitely recommended

We ate at the Plate and Porter on the evening of their twentieth birthday celebration. The welcome was friendly and we enjoyed reminiscing over old menus and the dishes we had enjoyed in the past. The menu was varied and each dish sounded lovely so choosing was hard!
When it arrived the food lived up to expectations, pleasing to the eye and hot. The service was timed so that we felt neither rushed nor neglected.
In fact we resolved to come more often in the future since, we have such a treasure right on our doorstep!

Very good food. The fish stew starter was particularly good. Service was excellent. Ambiance perfect for a romantic birthday meal. Prices are reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the superb food.

Service wonderful and superb tasty food, as usual. The Sunday Lunch menu gave a brilliant choice - a far cry from the boring carvery found in most other local establishments on Sundays- and a difficult choice had to be made!

We were only half way through the door when we were greeted by Lisa, the hostess with the mostess. Drinks served after selecting from a good stock then a rest on the comfy sofas until our food was ready. Grey mullet and fillet steak were our choice and what an excellent choice they were too ! Great menu and fantastic value for the quality and quantity you get. We live 180 miles away but try to call when we're in town.
