Sister of the Bib Gourmand-winning Fitzrovia site, Picture Marylebone is a charming neighbourhood restaurant found moments from the well-heeled high street. This independent opening comes from trio Tom, Alan and Colin, who spent many years working together in Michelin-starred restaurants.

Showcasing forward-thinking dishes that focus on excellent value for money, the Picture menu changes daily, and flavours are dictated by the best available ingredients. Options might include young chicken with mushrooms and kale, or charred cauliflower with sea purslane, peas and shallots. Experimental flair is used to conjure like desserts like almond cake with apricot and frozen lemon-thyme yoghurt.

The drinks list at Picture in Marylebone is similarly creative, with cherry-picked international wines served alongside speciality gins and house cocktails. Local area-inspired cocktails include the Lady Cavendish with red berry tea gin, elderflower & cava, or the Highgate negroni with gin & spiced vermouth.

Found on New Cavendish Street, Picture restaurant in London is a 9-minute walk from Bond Street Tube Station.

This was a lovely find.A little out of the way for my friend and I but we will be back !
The welcome was warm and friendly and relaxed.I had warned them I was diary free and as soon as I was given the menu everything was discussed with alternatives .Brilliant (not made to feel a problem at all )The look of the restaurant was simple but Minimalist and inviting. Our complimentary drink was delicious. Plum slow gin and champagne .Every course although small was very tastie The veloute vegetable soup was warm and got our platte started, the goats curd was presented most beautifully and was surrounded with different types of beetroot .( Yummy). The pork and endive next dish was good, or was it the fish next which was cod just cooked, that melted in the mouth .Then came probably our favourite which was the venison which had been roasted to perfection. The cheese and dessert were offered but only one had the dessert and was enjoyed and I was offered many other choices that were diary free and I plumpt for Carrot cake and no ice cream which tasted very light and the carrot gratings to decorate were an inspiration.
The wine we choose just a glass was a good quality merlot
    Coffee was good too.
Service was good , not intrusive and gave good conversation when being asked about how the place began.
All I can say is this was a very enjoyable and well structured meal.

I was after a great dining experience after reading all the postive reviews, but unfortunately, it didn't match the standards I was expecting. On the + side, the service was really good, the wines good as well (we went for the Tokaji and the Rosso di Montalcino) and the beef has really good taste. Unfortunately, the presentation wasn't as good looking as I hoped, especially the second dish, the glazed squash, really disappointing, with a sort of salad not looking that fresh... Pork and beef were really good, but the stone bass was a bit overcooked. I had a good time thanks to the good wine and the quality of the service, but not sure how other people are considering the food "exceptional" compared to other tasting menus in London.

A fabulous dinner booked on the 6 courses offer. Each was delicious! Ambience was lovely and staff were so wonderful, helpful and friendly- a very rare thing in London! Greatly appreciated and we all had a fabulous time. Highly recommend and we will be back soon.

Wonderful service, attentive but not over-bearing. They were very happy to change the dessert option; usually desserts are the disappointing course on a tasting menu but all three made a memorable end to a most enjoyable dinning experience. The 28-day aged beef course was the highlight of the whole menu. The merlot had enough body to give a satisfying finish but light enough to work with all the courses. Also, unlike a lot of establishments, the staff receive the service charge and any additional tips.
