Usually travel 1 hour from home to the Collingham branch which is excellent.
Stayed overnight in York so decided to book based on the service and food experienced at Collingham.
We were very disappointed with this branch.
The Gamboni starter was terrible, my partner couldn't cut through the slice of bread, so had to leave it.
Her main course Caesar salad was mostly left as the chicken was cooked very hard, and my main course of usda corn fed Kentucky steak at just over £30 was more fat and grizzle than actual steak, and tasted no different to a steak from a local budget supermarket.
Overall £100 on a meal 2 was disappointing, and that was with my partners starter and main deleted from the bill.

I dined here with my girlfriend on Valentine's Day. As soon as we walked through the door, we realised that we were in for an authentic Italian experience. All staff were professional and courteous, making sure that everything for us was exactly as we wanted it. The food was cooked to perfection. I am from the western part of Greece near Italy, so I can certainly say that there was a sense of nostalgia when trying the food. The prices were also very fair. We had two appetisers, two mains, a bottle of wine, a dessert and a coffee for the table. All of that came up to about £60. And that was for large portions as well, so certainly no post-meal empty wallet gazing regret. Piccolino is an amazing restaurant with a passionate staff that know how to successfully turn an average night into a romantic escape.

We believe that the manager and staff of Piccolino York are our friends because we are always so well taken care of. The seating was great, food delicious and service from Luca and his team was spot-on.

Was made to feel very welcome at the outset and my son was delighted by the 'cloakroom' service...apparently we've never been anywhere so posh! Excellent menu choices including all the traditional dishes you'd expect in an Italian restaurant and some fabulous looking specials too. Didn't have wine as Mr P was driving but I had a delicious prosecco cocktail (well, it's almost Xmas) Looking forward to returning next week for our daughter's birthday celebrations.
