I went there last night with my wife to celebrate our anniversary and although we both enjoyed our evening together without the kids, I was left a little disappointed with the food. I ordered a steak which was ok but cold as was the pepper sauce which I paid extra for. The choice of veg was poor quality, only carrots and parsnips, and these were burnt and also cold. The chips were also burnt and not very appetising. I mentioned all this to the waiter who offered us another drink which we didn't want but no reduction on the cost of the meal. The venue was nice but with customers coming and going throughout, the sliding doors were almost permanently open allowing a freezing cold draft into the dining area. As a result, my wife spent the whole meal with her coat on and I was uncomfortably cold and what with cold food as well, I was not impressed overall. However, the ambiance was good and if we come back, it will be with the kids in summer and I'll order something different.

we thought the staff were lovely, welcoming and really friendly. they had a genuine interest in you as a customer rather than the fake smiles and forced service you can get at other restaurants. the food was really tasty too! you can taste the freshness. everything was really clean and the restaurant was well presented. will definitely be visiting again. thank you.

Very disappointed with our visit.Where do I start? The service was very poor. There was no continuity. Different waiters kept coming and asking us the same thing. We were not made to feel important or valued in any way whatsoever. The waiters were only really interested in topping up our wine glasses. I had to tell at least 4 waiters I was driving and didnt want my glass topped up. Despite that we had to ask to order our food as no-one seemed interested. No-one offered advice or to discuss the menu with us. One of our party asked for the potatoes included in her dish to be changed to courgette fries, not a problem she was told but this item was then added to the bill. The calamari was very good but the mains fish ordered by 2 people was overcooked and leathery. My side salad can only be described as a wet mess. We had been told we must leave by 8.30pm despite there being plenty of empty tables. This would have been fine if the service had been on the ball but it wasn't so we decided we must forgo dessert. We asked for the bill but it didnt appear and around 5 minutes later someone else came with the dessert menus!! Eventually, after asking again the bill arrived but again no-one came to collect payment. In the end we walked to the front of the building and paid at the desk. This was all despite there being plenty of staff around who all seemed more interested in talking to themselves or to diners who they obviously knew. My husband and I had chosen Piccolino's for a special evening with visiting relatives who are well used to eating out in good establishments. We were left feeling very embarrassed by our choice and certainly will not be returning!

Very loud restaurant, very difficult to hear each other.
Service a little lacking, our main courses arrived before our drinks. Overall not a good experience, we won't be returning.
