With a stunning al fresco terrace with retractable roof, 20-metre open kitchen and island cocktail bar, Piccolino Alderley Edge is a unique space for chic Italian dining.
The Piccolino Alderley Edge menu showcases a refined Mediterranean menu made with only the finest ingredients, including salami aged 50 days in Northern Italy, and sheep's milk matured 3 months in Tuscany. The wood-fired oven is used to prepare dishes like sumptuous meatballs, naked spinach and ricotta dumplings, and a range of pizzas. Hand-filled ravioli comes packed with crab, chilli, lemon and shellfish butter, there are sumptuous risotto recipes, Mersea Island oysters, lobster, and tender veal escalope with Parma ham and sage.
A great range of delicate desserts are served at Piccolino Alderley Edge. Booked our table prior to my 62 birthday.
We were excited as we had never dined at Piccolinos, Alderley Edge, however, this was very short lived!
Our waiter seemed rushed and overconfident in his approach towards us, with an arrogance in his manner. His asked us what drinks we would like to order. I ordered a bottle of wine that we would have enjoyed. He told us that the wine we had ordered was not recommended and directed us towards a more expensive wine, which he could recommend! We thought that we would follow his advice and that it did not matter about the price as it was a special occasion. The wine was not to our taste and we left it. The starter, which was a risotto was cold and tasteless. The main meal was seabass, a small portion, which cost £50.00 ,with no added extras! The waiter arrived at the table and asked why we had not drunk any of the wine. I explained that the wine was not to our taste, he challenged me and told me that was what I had ordered! The restaurant is impressive, but at the end of the day you want good food and friendly staff, this was not in our opinion delivered and was not good value for money. Our overall expenditure was £119.00, without a sweet course. The reason we left prior to our sweet course was because the service and food was not great or value for money.

I booked it 4 weeks ago so considering it was a red hot day we would have liked to be seated outside as I'm sure my booking was before some others but we were told we couldn't even though there was free tables outside. The food was lovely though we both had the lobster pasta and would definitely recommend

Showing off the ingredients is a great idea. We all had pasta and really enjoyed it. The on-line booking didn't work, it said there was some sort of issue but I rang and booked with no issues.

Overall I was disappointed with the experience. The service was slow and the food below my expectations (my steak was tough and very dry round the edges - as if it had been lying around a long time before it was cooked). It is a shame as the decor and location is very good.

One of the best restaurants around with delicious food. Outside bar with live music is an excellent idea!
