Booked for 5.30 for pre theatre meal for 2 people. Food was good but service was very slow. We needed to be at the theatre for 7.30 and had to ask if we could have our dessert as it was7.10pm. 7.20 and we asked for bill still no dessert so we said we would have to leave,at that moment the dessert appeared and it looked delicious , unfortunately we only had a quick taste and had to leave. If this ts a regular occurrence at this time of day it explains why there were only 3 lots of diners including us in the restaurant. Food good, staff attentive, food slow to leave kitchen.

We had a very good three course meal last Saturday. The staff were charming and we will most certainly recommend it to our friends.

Great food, brilliant service. Felt really spoiled. Good deal with the set menu. Maybe some people might find it a bit quiet, but if you have good company, who cares?

We had excellent food elegantly served and with very attentive waiting staff. The cocktails we received were again excellent. There was no rush to get us out. Our friends who we took were absolutely delighted.

I came for afternoon tea. The staff and service were, as usual, excellent. However the white china cups were far too thick and chunky for tea- they are OK for coffee. The waiter explained the thinking behind the sewing box but it was so big it filled the table and made it difficult to pour tea and eat! The standard of the food was excellent! On the whole a good experience but could easily have been excellent ,

What a gem, stayed at the Cavendish to celebrate partner's birthday, dined in the restaurant because we hadn't bothered to look elsewhere - and were very glad we did. The staff in the dining room were knowledgeable about the menu and the wines, were extremely accommodating but not obtrusive. The food was amazing, if staying in hotel or nearby don't miss out by going elsewhere!
