Found within a London hotel that dates back as far as 1836, Petrichor at The Cavendish London serves contemporary British cuisine and a great value pre-theatre menu. Overlooking the exclusive boutiques and galleries of Jermyn Street, St. James's and Piccadilly, Petrichor is found on the 1st floor of the Cavendish London hotel.

Championing a commitment to serving premium ingredients, Petrichor London sources from local farmers and producers to create monthly-changing menus of delicious modern British cuisine. Head Chef Glen Padiyar blends hearty, home-cooked flavours and unique culinary flair, with Petrichor menu favourites including rich pigeon and venison terrine with elderflower jelly, or sustainable fish pie with smoked cod loin, shrimps and boiled quail eggs.

Rich, autumnal flavours for dessert include panettone bread & butter pudding with drambuie custard, or mulled wine-poached pear with cinnamon mascarpone. An accomplished wine list at Petrichor Green Park showcases fine vintages, alongside an exclusive selection from the Chapel Down winery in Kent.

Capturing the essence of nature through the setting and cuisine, Petrichor restaurant is set in the deluxe surroundings of The Cavenish Hotel. Green Park Tube Station is a 5-minute walk away.

This was our second visit to Petrichor and it did not disappoint. Courteous, efficient service and lovely quiet corner to eat and converse. Excellent value at £27 a head. Food beautifully presented - loved the chocolate and raspberry pud with peanut butter icecream.

Service at Petrichor is always excellent. The set menu, although small, offers a good choice, with something for all tastes. The food is very good and well presented.

Very average starters and main courses. Especially fish dishes were disappointing (we had trout as one of the starters and salmon as one of main dishes) - ready fish from Aldi are two leagues higher. Tagliatelle was not much better. Desserts were ok, though not mind-blowing. I struggled to find sea salt and rosemary in chips with sea salt and rosemary. To be fair, the service was kind. The atmosphere of the place was the nicest aspect thanks to which we enjoyed the conversation and relaxed there, but that by no means compensates for the quality of food.

We went for afternoon tea and were pleased. A calm environment, slightly uncomfortable chairs but a decent afternoon tea with some good sandwiches and delicious cakes. The coffee wasn't up to much but the rest was great. I would definitely return.

We were looking foward to dinner at Petrichor having enjoyed a good breakfast on our last stay at the Cavendish. The menu seemed a little old fashioned 'prawn cocktail, baked Alaska, lamb hotpot' so I assumed the dishes might have a modern twist. This wasn't the case, well cooked overall, gristle in lamb though.
Service good, would have liked bottle of water left on table rather than waiting for a top up on each course.
Just two other diners on a Saturday night which needs some serious questioning.
I'll be leaving a glowing review for the Cavendish again but not for the Pertichor as I feel it will reflect badly on our favourite hotel.
We felt a little let down given the high standards of the Cavendish
    Best regards
    Darren Donnelly
