Service and food were fantastic.
They accommodated our change of plans without any hassle and the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble

A wonderfully family-friendly pub in Whitby, Penny Hedge offers versatile dining throughout the day. Rotisserie chicken takes centre stage, and there is a great selection of Marston's Brewery ales on tap. In the warmer weather, the al fresco seating is a huge draw.

Tender rotisserie chicken features high on the Penny Hedge menu, with diners able to customise theirs with flavours including garlic mushroom and Thai sweet chilli. There are spicy rotisserie curries, as well as a burger range with toppings such as brie and chorizo. British classics also feature on the menu, such as beef and ale pie, and there are vegetarian recipes like butternut squash, feta and pomegranate moussaka.

A tempting dessert list at Penny Hedge in North Yorkshire offers up favourites like red velvet cheesecake, and there is a full wine list and selection of carefully chosen cask ales from Marston's Brewery.

A short drive from the coast and close by to local walking trails, Penny Hedge is 6 minutes' drive from Whitby Rail Station.
