Service was excellent - Not rushed and very friendly. The food was very tasty, I couldn't pick a favourite dish, as I enjoyed them all so much. Thank you very much Pearl Liang.

food was really good, the place was full and we did struggle to get waiters attention to get an additional drink and the bill

Table of drunk people were so noisy yet restaurant staff did nothing. Restaurant seems under staffed. I came and waited for someone to seat me but no one came for long time.

I made a booking for 2 at 8.30. We had arrived early and were told we had to wait. This is fine since I understand they are busy. However, we waited 1 hour and other customers who had arrived after us in larger groups but were early for their own booking were seated first. When i was eventually asked for my booking name, the man was chewing whilst talking to me which is not very professional.
It was not until I was visibly upset (after 40 minutes of waiting) that a menu was even offered to me. I had to wait 1 hour to get seated.I did not get an apology and was still given service charge.
On the plus side, the food was great. No MSG, quality dim sum.
However the service has given me a bitter taste in my mouth and I am apprehensive about returning despite the meal.
My suggestions for improved customer service: If you cannot seat us straight away, tell us approximately how long we will be waiting. Then provide a menu immediately for us to have a look at and do not seat other customers beforehand if they have the same reservation time!!!

Delicious food - lobster noodle, roast duck with very crispy skin, almost like Peking duck. Good ambience and decor. Friendly staff.

The food was good but the service pretty poor. One of the items that we had asked for did not arrive until very close to the end of the meal when we drew it to the waitress' attention. We had to ask twice for soy sauce.

I have been going to Pearl Liang, on and off, for years, in fact, ever since it opened. They regularly send me birthday offers but I don't usually take them up. But I decided to on this occasion and made it clear on my booking. The offer was for a free cocktail for up to 5 people. I invited my family and looked forward to it.
I arrived, showed the waiter the e-mail and when we ordered the cocktails we were told that there was a problem. A member of staff said firstly that we were entitled to 15% off the menu, would we not take that instead? When we said no, she then said that she had tried to call me that day and left a message explaining a 'problem'. I had not received that (I had not until later on that evening). She then said that we would not have the free cocktails as we had not printed out the e-mail. We did not have a printer with us (of course) and offered to send the e-mail to her. She continued to insist that we would not have the free cocktails until finally she relented, ungraciously, and gave me her e-mail address. She said, totally unnecessarily that this was a 'one-off' favour from the restaurant and would not be repeated! This spoilt the atmosphere completely. We then ordered food. When we ordered scallops for 4 we were told to order the extra large ones. We declined politely but I overheard the server when they arrived comment in Cantonese derogatorily about our choice of scallop. The food was fine but we were ignored for the most part, especially when we wanted tea refills or to order anything else. I am afraid we will not be returning anytime soon.
