Lovely fresh sandwiches & cakes super. A good variety & a lovely box of macaroons to take home.
However the service ruined the experience. Staff not attentive & very chatty among themselves. On numerous occasions we had to ask twice to remind them of what we had asked for. Toilet facilities very poor.

Lovely afternoon tea!! Fantastic selection of sandwiches and cakes and everything was presented nicely. Didn't get our box of macaroons that were part of the offer though so a bit disappointed!

My second time at pattiserie valarie loved it

When I made the booking I had requested a gluten free (g/f) afternoon tea for myself as I am coeliac. I was phoned by the manager at 9.30am on the morning of our booking, who said g/f cakes could be provided but not sandwiches as they didn't keep g/f bread. I suggested that I take my own bread for them to make my sandwiches, which he agreed to. At 10am I received another call from a woman, who said they weren't in a position to safely make g/f sandwiches for me using my own bread, as they couldn't guarantee a suitable sterile environment in order not to cause me problems.
We were greeted by the manager, who was most apologeticabout the g/f, made us comfortable, delivered the drinks & food himself & agreed that I could eat my own pre=prepared sandwiches, & suggested a selection of g/f cakes for me. He was attentive throughout.
I had booked afternoon tea for two, so my husband & niece had those, which was well presented, & they both agreed was delicious.
I completed a comments form, & suggested that a possibility might be to keep g/f bread in the freezer & provide a dedicated g/f breadboard for making the sandwiches. You can buy breadboards that have engraved lettering on so that would be an idea. Also staff need to be made fully aware of the g/f implications.

My daughter bought me "tea for two" as a extra Mother's Day gift , The staff could not have been more helpful & friendly , nothing was too much trouble , they went out of their way to be the best . I could not fault them , and I certainly couldn't fault the food in abundance . Everything was fresh and very tasty , enjoyed it so much I will definitely being going again & try something different .
