We arrived at our booked reservation time and was then shown to a lovely table. We were then informed that 3 out of the 6 sandwiches that were on the menu were unavailable (Salmon, Egg and the Cucumber). They said that they could substitute these with ham and cheese which meant we only had 3 types of sandwiches in total. We found this a little disappointing as we should have got the 6 and that was one of the reasons why we booked this restaurant as we loved the choices of sandwiches. However, the sandwiches we did get were very tasty and the bread was fresh and the scones and cakes were all fantastic. The cakes especially were very light and fluffy and delicious so that made up for it.

I took my friend who had just turned 18 to Patisserie Valerie for a birthday treat and we ordered Afternoon Tea. It was absolutely unbeatable! The staff were kind and we were sat in the window seat too!

Lovely restaurant, excellent service. Gorgeous cakes. We had afternoon tea and there was plenty to eat, we couldn't eat it all so we were able to take home what we couldn't finish.

We had the afternoon tea, food was lovely, service was very slow, cups were dirty, one saucer (which we didnt use had cake stuck underneath it!!)....these were little faults, the waiter was great, did really well on his first day, just more attention to the little details would have made this a five star experience.

As I have visited the branch in Kensington a few times I was really looking forward to my visit to the Liverpool restaurant. However, despite the cakes being very nice it was a disappointing experience as the floor around our table was very dirty and the sandwich bread was dry and they had obviously been made some time before.
