Quaint, Splendid & ultimately divine. We visited The Oyster Box for a high tea and accompanied it with my husband. There was a lot to eat & definitely worth every penny! The ambience was extremely romantic. We had a lovely afternoon and it was definitely the highlight of my holiday! The service was excellent and food scrumptious! Definitely loved the view from the terrace! Will be recommending it to everyone & a definite return from us!
Keep it up!
Much Love from JHB!

We truly had a wonderful experience. From the moment when we walked in until we left we felt like royalty.
Being a chef I can say that the Savoury eats were very "bready"& could have had some more variation. Some Apple&Brie tarts still had some crust on it(not acceptable).
There were items in small glasses(white) with no identification so not one was consumed. We didn't think to ask at the time as the Gorgeous carrot cake was saying EAT ME.
There was never enough side plates to go around. Guests had to wait all the time for plates.
The Indian savoury eats(Samoosa's&Chilli bites) could have had a nice sambal/dipping sauce.
The sweets were decadent & delicious.
The milk tarts were a bit messy.
Once again we had to wait for plates.
The cheese spread was very much "ordinary" with hardly any different cheeses...
The smoked salmon ran out&wasn't replenished.
Our table was right at the buffet & we had no privacy. We almost felt like we were in the way of the waitress etc. Other tables were empty & I felt that we didn't get the best seat in the restaurant. The overall service was excellent. Charmaine was a very efficient waitress.
The parking was very secluded. No signage as where to go to. We just "found" our way...

This is one of the best restaurants that we have eaten at !
And we have eaten in many superb restaurants in the UK and around the world!
Service was impeccable, the staff were so attentive, every detail had been worked through!
Will change our travel plans for our next visit to South Africa, just to stay at the Palm Court /Oyster Box and be throughly spoilt again !

The service was very good but the high tea is quite over-priced for the variety and quality of the treats on offer.

I arranged a High Tea for my inlays and their friends on 2 Feb and they absolutely loved it. The special touch of the birthday messages and champagne were really appreciated by them.

everything was fine except for flies. There were candles lit but flies were sitting on all the food which was open. This was a real put off and as a result we did not partake from a lot of the eats. This is also a problem as flies carry germs and patrons could get ill. I would kindly suggest covers be put on all food.
on a positive note we had Stanley as our waiter . He was most pleasant and attentative, always on hand. he is indeed an asset to Oyster Box. We are celebrating my daughters 11th Birthday on 13 Feb. we have a table booked for 5 for high tea. please may I ask that Stanley be assigned to our table.
trusting that a solution will be found to the fly problem by our next visit on 13th February. .
