I had the soup to start. It was bland and they provided a tiny amount of doughy baguette to accompany a large bowl. For the main I had the confit duck salad, and I can honestly say it was one of the worst dishes I have had out in recent memory. The entire dish was overwhelmed by a mountain of pickled vegetables - I may as well have had a bowl of vinegar as every thing was swimming in the pickling liquid. On the side I had potato dauphinoise, but it seems they forgot to put any form of seasoning in it, or any cheese in the bechamel - meaning that it was the blandest potato dauphinoise I have ever had. For dessert I had the chocolate tart, which was reasonably good, though the accompanying cream was badly over-whipped. Given what had preceded it, I was just happy to have something with flavour.

With regards to the service, the waiter forgot our drinks to begin with and never checked as to whether we were enjoying our meal, or whether we wanted any further drinks. When food was delivered, they never offered pepper or parmesan for pasta. The whole thing felt rushed and simply an exercise in getting us in and out as quick as possible.

The food was great. Nice and creamy duck parfait, crisp and fresh sea bass and sweet and smooth passion fruit delice.
The champagne cocktail (Kir Royal) was a letdown. If there is champagne or any kind of sparkling wine in a drink/cocktail it should be served cold not room temperature.
