Superb waiter, best chips ever, delicious sea bream, and unbeatable view.. A perfect night out celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary with our son.

Perched high on the 8th floor of OXO Tower on London’s South Bank, OXO Tower Brasserie affords sensational views across London and the Thames from its 250-foot terrace and dining area. The informal setting has an infectious buzz, with live music from an extensive line-up of jazz musicians adding an extra dimension to the experience.
Head Chef Keir Barry has created a modern Brasserie menu with simple, fresh and comforting dishes which champion the best local and seasonal produce on offer. Tuck into mains such as tender Welsh lamb rump with artichokes, or sea bass with brown shrimps, spring greens and samphire. Many meat dishes are cooked over charcoal on the Josper grill, creating a rich barbecue flavour that is perfect for al fresco dining in the summer.
Just a stone’s throw from some of London’s most popular theatres, OXO Tower Brasserie also caters for those looking for a quick meal before or after the show with its pre and post theatre dining menu. An excellent cocktail list accompanies the menu, and unique to the Brasserie, ‘Not Afternoon Tea’ is a must-try experience for those who enjoy a sweet treat with a difference. A selection of delicious desserts includes lemon verbena jelly with cherry compote, bay leaf parfait, and mint and blackcurrant mousse.
OXO Tower Brasserie in London is just 8 minutes’ walk from Southwark and Waterloo and 10 minutes’ walk from Blackfriars Tube station.

Not the best spot for a romantic dinner.

I took a friend there for her 70th birthday and ordered a special birthday cake so the staff knew that it was a special occassion. When I confirmed the booking and when I ordered the cake I asked for a window table as it was a special evening, I asked a third time when I had to make the payment for the cake. When we were seated we were not given a window table, next to us was a window table which became un-occupied just after we sat down - we were not offered the table. The window table was then occupied by two gentlemen and I got into conversation with them, they told me they were tourists and had just come in off the street to dine!
My guest, who had no particular expectation, did comment that the windo table afforded a nice view of the city.
The food and wine were good but the whole experience of eating at the OXO Tower was spoilt.

Not what I had expected. Meal good, mine and the table next to me who,had the same meal as me left our main meal. But starter/sweet/service good. I did say my main was not great, and very pleased took the price off for the meal, so that was very good.

Service was not as good as we expected it to be. Portion sizes were good, and the set menu offered fair-ish value for money

Very good, I had a lovely evening

Food was ok, not outstanding. Service was good. However, it was spoilt by the sun as we were on the terrace and at first were delighted with the table. When we were in full sun, it was quite unbearable as there were no sun umbrellas or awning to protect us from the sun. Thank goodness, I had an umbrella. We could not wait to leave and did not have coffee.

Usually I would be able to find a fault when I dine out, but surprisingly everything was perfect. The only thing I would say was that the seats I was originally booked in for were right beside where the chefs were preparing the meals so it was abit hot, however once I asked one of the kind waiters if me and my partner could be moved everything was great. The scenery overlooking London while you drink a 'cinnamon banana colada' is beautiful. And the 'king prawn salad', I could literally eat all day. All in all an excellent experience. 10/10
