On the ground floor of the Hilton London Bankside Hotel, OXBO Bankside uses local produce to create flavour-packed European dishes. An elegantly styled dining room and cocktail bar make for a uniquely chic dining destination.

Regional produce such as Cornish monkfish cheeks and Borough Market Portobello mushroom is highlighted in dishes such as duck breast with artichoke purée, mandarin jus and sweet potato crisps. Beautifully presented desserts such as blueberry and fudge bread and butter pudding provide a mouth-watering conclusion to the OXBO Bankside menu.

The William Morris-inspired design at OXBO London features bare brickwork and metal screens to produce a cool, urban ambience which is enhanced by the open kitchen. Once a Victorian distillery, the aptly named Distillery bar features aromatically infused cocktails which celebrate the site’s history.

Paul Bates leads the Hilton Bankside’s innovative restaurant which is a 5-minute walk from Southwark Tube station.

    Excellent service, lovely environment, charming staff, Bookatable menu very good value for money. All food much enjoyed except for one portion of duck which was a little too rare. (But, in fairness, this was not mentioned at the time and would surely have been remedied if it had been mentioned.)

    Lovely venue, good service. Decor was great and we really enjoyed the main dish. Portions not as big as we had hoped, but quality over quantity I guess.

    A great evening in a lively restaurant offering good value. £21 for 3 courses. Food a bit hit and miss. Great main courses of duck and a sea bass. Starter was tiny (swordfish overpowered with grapefruit) and not that good, chocolate dessert was average. They have a half price happy hour in the bar 4/6pm which we enjoyed!

    Staff were really nice and friendly.
    Shame there were issues with the kitchen/oven that night as it was very smoky in the restaurant.
    The menu choices were not great. Really for aquired tastes.
    I ordered the swordfish for starter. It didn't mention that it was not cooked. I would have t ordered it if I was told. Too much lemon was on it and I couldn't eat it.
    The duck was nice, however the cutlery wasn't very sharp so had trouble cutting the meat. Deserts were not that great I'm afraid.
    Nice we were given complimentary prosecco. That tasted nice at least! On my booking I mentioned it was a special birthday for my husband. I was disappointed this was not mentioned or no special effort made with the desert to mention it as we have experienced in other restaurants.
