On the ground floor of the Hilton London Bankside Hotel, OXBO Bankside uses local produce to create flavour-packed European dishes. An elegantly styled dining room and cocktail bar make for a uniquely chic dining destination.

Regional produce such as Cornish monkfish cheeks and Borough Market Portobello mushroom is highlighted in dishes such as duck breast with artichoke purée, mandarin jus and sweet potato crisps. Beautifully presented desserts such as blueberry and fudge bread and butter pudding provide a mouth-watering conclusion to the OXBO Bankside menu.

The William Morris-inspired design at OXBO London features bare brickwork and metal screens to produce a cool, urban ambience which is enhanced by the open kitchen. Once a Victorian distillery, the aptly named Distillery bar features aromatically infused cocktails which celebrate the site’s history.

Paul Bates leads the Hilton Bankside’s innovative restaurant which is a 5-minute walk from Southwark Tube station.

Great experience. Food excellent and bubbles were definitely free flowing. Only small mark down was the lack of vegetables with the roast (more like a single portion) and minimal gravy (we did get more when we asked though). Would thoroughly recommend.

Had dinner at the OXBO Bankside last night with a friend. Absolutely loved it. We ordered from the £21 menu - 3 courses AND a glass of prosecco for that price. We didn't expect that the food would be as good as it was. It was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was second to none. The staff was attentive but not overbearing - they were perfect. As is the case in all restaurants in London now, there was music in the background. But it wasn't intrusive and you definitely could carry on a conversation without having to yell at your dining companion. The restaurant is quite large and roomy. We were left to enjoy our meal without feeling like the staff was waiting for us to leave. A late addition to my dinner menu was taken very much in stride and it didn't seem to present to problem (or at least the waiter didn't show it if it did!) The restaurant is in the Hilton Hotel, which is lovely and even the staff outside of the restaurant (in the lobby/by the bar) were very warm and welcoming and friendly. The location is about a 5 minute walk from Blackfriars station, close to the Tate as well and a bit of a longer walk or short bus ride from London Bridge. Good location, very accessible and it's always good to have a nice dining option on the south side of the river I think! All in all we very much enjoyed our time at the OXBO and the question isn't whether we will return but when. Great food, great service, great value - what's there not to love! (P.S. thank you very much again to the staff member who came after us onto the street to return the package that I had left at my table!)
