As always, the food was excellent. Delicate tastes and fresh, fresh produce. The Porthilly oysters were the larges, fleshiest and best we have had for a long time. Service charming and discrete.

My wife and I had a lovely evening at the restaurant. Our waiter (George), recommended the set menu and a such we took his advice. Each dish was elegantly presented and it would be difficult to single out any individual course. They were all lovely. If you enjoy sea food then this experience is a must.

Exciting food, lovely staff and relaxing, cosy atmosphere. Ordered six dishes and favourites were the mullet, plaice and the gurnard. House white was very enjoyable.

We chose the 'fish kitchen to share' full menu. It was excellent throughout with everything beautifully cooked and presented. With this quality it was also good value. We particularly enjoyed the ginger cured salmon and the crispy ling but every item was delicious. The service was relaxed and friendly and each dish was briefly explained without unnecessary tedious detail.

We arrived after a strenuous walk from Port Quin to a lovely welcome and a welcome large carafe of cold water. The choices of small dishes on the menu were enticing and varied plus two daily specials as well. We chose five small dishes, one side of potatoes and one side of bread to mop up the juices and it was just the right amount. Each small dish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff were delightful and explained how the menu worked. Our lunch was acompanied by some lovely white wine and we were so full we could not manage a pudding. When we are back in Cornwall we will definately be coming here again.

We went to the Fish Kitchen as part of family 65th birthday weekend in the Padstowe area. We were delighted with the whole experience. We arrived a little early for outer booking but the table was ready for us anyway. We opted for the Sharing set-menu for the whole party, which worked very well. One of the party has to be 'dairy free' and this was handled sensitively and efficiently, which was very welcome. All the dishes we had were excellent and innovative and we found it impossible to rate any as our favourite! The herring and spicing was spot on and the fish and seafood all really fresh. Service was relaxed and very knowledgeable. A great evening - would recommend to anyone that likes fish.

    Fleeced for every forkful!

We had high expectations for this restaurant and expected to pay the appropriate price.
The food was delicious - but just one small bite per person (4) and it was gone!
The bill including service for four tapas-sized offerings and three glasses of wine was £88!
We worked that out to £16 for just one small forkful.
We felt fleeced and still famished!
