The staff were really nice and the restaurant was awesome well the last meal before the dessert was a killer even my date confirmed how nice the meal was. Nevertheless, the whole experience was a memorable one and we will be cone back very soon.

Nestled in a converted orchid warehouse, Orso – Covent Garden presents a chic, bistro-style retreat. With sleek wood furnishings and pale terracotta walls, the dining room evokes the charm of 1950s Milan.
With a long established reputation for superb Italian cuisine in Covent Garden, the Orso menu offers lovingly-crafted, traditional cuisine, whilst incorporating an exciting twist. Quality, regionally-sourced ingredients are used to create tempting dishes, like roast Tuscan sausage with braised black cabbage, or fresh penne pasta with wilted spinach and gorgonzola.
Within a vibrant area of London, Orso restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere which is perfect for a leisurely meal, and diners can unwind with a glass from the fine range of well-balanced wines. To round things off, the dessert menu is filled with indulgent delights, like flourless chocolate cake with mascarpone, or pear and caramel tart.
In a quaint setting, Orso Covent Garden is just 6 minutes’ walk from Covent Garden Tube Station, and 2 minutes from the Lyceum Theatre.

Great food, great service, great value. This restaurant is a little gem in the heart of Theatre Land. We even got to sit next to a couple of celebrities. We booked the London Food Festival menu and it was super - starting off with a cocktail was a lovely addition to the menu. Will definitely dine here again.

Firstly, I can't fault the food so if you're going to pop in just for the food then it's fine, but for special occasions I would give it a miss.
The staff must have been having an off day as no one was smiling and I felt like it was a chore for them to serve us... this was at lunch time as it wasn't full so no excuse there.
The restaurant is starting to look a bit tired decoration wise, and because the restaurant is in the basement, when you're looking around, you do tend to notice it as there are no windows to distract you!
Food wise, what we had was very good, nothing exceptional but good. Ideal venue for a pre theatre visit!
I just wish the service had been friendlier.

The booking did't actually work through Bookatable and luckily i rang before to confirm as our party had changed numbers. The staff managed to accommodate us and were very pleasant.

The food was excellent - pork belly and rump steak especially. The service was less good than under the previous management. No one to greet us on arrival at 7.30pm, as they were busy clearing tables for the changeover after the pre-theatre rush, and we had to wait a couple of minutes to be acknowledged. Pre-theatre is their bread and butter business, so there's no excuse really to not have this changeover well under control, and the Maitre D should always be looking after arrivals. Once seated, we had to ask twice for bread and for one of our drinks, which were slow in coming as well. Our order could have been taken more quickly too.One main dish came with the wrong accompaniments, which were then brought separately.
Otherwise all was well, but having dined at Orso on and off for the last 20 years (it's always been one of my favourites restaurants) I would say that while they have kept the very high standard of food, the service needs to be improved - not just on the small points mentioned above, but also there needs to be more sense of warmth towards customers - not only were we not greeted on arrival, but we we not once asked how the meal was, nor did anyone say goodnight and thankyou on the way out. This is really the job of a really good Maitre D, which Orso had for many years, and I think they need to improve this role, as his/her level of service filters down to the other staff and creates an ambience/warmth is a restuarant (or not).
We will certainly give them another chance, as the food was still excellent quality.
