Nestled in a converted orchid warehouse, Orso – Covent Garden presents a chic, bistro-style retreat. With sleek wood furnishings and pale terracotta walls, the dining room evokes the charm of 1950s Milan.

With a long established reputation for superb Italian cuisine in Covent Garden, the Orso menu offers lovingly-crafted, traditional cuisine, whilst incorporating an exciting twist. Quality, regionally-sourced ingredients are used to create tempting dishes, like roast Tuscan sausage with braised black cabbage, or fresh penne pasta with wilted spinach and gorgonzola.

Within a vibrant area of London, Orso restaurant offers a comfortable atmosphere which is perfect for a leisurely meal, and diners can unwind with a glass from the fine range of well-balanced wines. To round things off, the dessert menu is filled with indulgent delights, like flourless chocolate cake with mascarpone, or pear and caramel tart.

In a quaint setting, Orso Covent Garden is just 6 minutes’ walk from Covent Garden Tube Station, and 2 minutes from the Lyceum Theatre.

Very welcoming from the minute we arrived. Great service and delicious food. We had 2 courses from the pre theatre menu, which offered a good selection of starters, mains and desserts and was both beautifully presented and delicious. Cocktails and wine were also a must!

Excellent value and great availability for pre-theatre dining

Terrible meal. Chicken like leather. Rigatoni sauce as if from a jar. Minute portion of Seabass, no veg except tiny amount of fennel. Ordered potato to go with chicken and fish - only mashed available. Chocolate pudding like sawdust. Bottle of wine in jug so presumed it was what I ordered, no chance to try it.

Excellent unobtrusive service, good food from an interesting not too complex menu. A decent selection of Italian wines, reasonably priced. A pleasantly airy dining area nicely cooled by the air conditioning. Good to be able to talk over the meal without the need to shout or be distracted by fellow diners conversations.

Booked for 2 for 6PM. Arrived at 5:30 - restaurant said I had booked for 5 people, but no problem - place was virtually empty. Asked if we were going to the theatre and answered "No - so no rush" - but told we had to be out by 8PM; not a problem, but as it happened we were out by 6:20 as you barely have time to get half way through your starter before main course arrives - constant harrying to make sure you are getting a move on. Menu offered was nothing like that on Bookatable website - about 30% of the choices only and it's the first time I have been to an Italian restaurant that only offers vegetarian pizzas. I am astounded that some people give it 4 and 5 stars - may be new management. Definitely not returning.

We had a lovely time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The decor was relaxing. The food was very good and the Salice Salentino was superb! Five stars we will definitely be coming again with our friends.
