A wonderful evening at Ormer where the food certainly lived up to our expectations. My husband's smoked salmon tartare arrived covered with a dome filled with smoke which gave a wonderful, theatrical start to the meal. My lamb was accompanied by pea cannelloni, simply delicious.

Led by Michelin-starred Executive Chef Shaun Rankin, Flemings Mayfair Hotel presents modern takes on classic cuisine at Ormer Restaurant. The stunning Art Deco-inspired interior of this historic hotel is awash with the glamour and artistry of the 1920s.

Ormer restaurant in London is run alongside Shaun’s restaurant in Jersey: his passion for the island and its produce will be reflected in the Ormer menu. Cherry-picked Jersey ingredients will include fresh lobster, crab, oysters, hand-dived scallops, Jersey Royal potatoes, and herbs foraged form the shoreline.

Rankin’s new-style approach sees almost all ingredients sourced from within Jersey, with 90% sourced locally in the summer season. Produce grown, reared and caught by suppliers known personally are weaved through dishes like salt-baked sea bass with black olive caramel, or grouse with purple cabbage, blackberries and vanilla.

The glamorous dining room at Ormer restaurant in Mayfair features leather banquette seating, dark-wood panelling, glass tiles and bronze lighting. Find Ormer a 3-minute walk from Green Park Tube Station. Flemings Hotel is also home to The Drawing Room, serving classic afternoon teas.

    The afternoon tea is not amazing. The desserts are good but the sandwiches are not great. The Champagne is served in a wine glass... It was ok to pay half price but I would have not paid more for that.

    Very attentive service from start to finish. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was delicious and very well presented. Hats off to the team. Would highly recommend.

    Food was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed ever course. My husband raved about the orange souffle all the way home. Staff were attentive and extremely welcoming.

    This is a gem of a place. Like many others we became aware of it when it was used as the pro kitchen on Master Chef and decided to give the fixed price menu a try for lunch. The environment is quietly elegant. Service is exceptional, polite and friendly without ever being in your face or pushy. And the food is to die for and what value! To start we chose the Salmon tartare - a visual feast with flavours to match and the green asparagus which was refreshingly and unusually crisp served with duck egg and pecorino foam. For mains we had the Spanish pork with calamari, Asian pear and chorizo chutney which was outstanding and the brilliant halibut with delicate parsley gnocci for £4 extra. the desserts were amazing - a stunning soufflé with a fruit side and a piece of camembert, beautifully presented with orange marmalade, pecan nuts and milk and salted caramel. Outstanding value for a Michelin start quality meal. It can only be a matter of time before a start is awarded here.

    Absolutely superb, couldn't fault it. Went for my wife's birthday after seeing it on master chef. Staff could not do enough for you and the food was outstanding

    Nice asparagus, sole was average and coffee shuffle was too sweet. Kind and helpful staff except the one serving my table, no smile and not patient.

    A really special treat of an evening! Exceeded our expectations in every way - excellent food, delicious wine and excellent service. In spite of us taking up the 3 course offer we were not treated like second class citizens as has happened in other establishments. Quite the contrary - we were wonderfully attended to by all the staff,from the doorman to the waiting staff and everyone in between. Plus it was all such value for money! We will definitely be back Thank you
