Hidden behind a secret door in Chinatown, Opium Cocktail & Dim Sum Parlour offers heady oriental delicacies. Head up to the attic room with its free-standing bar and enjoy theatrical displays from Opium’s cocktail masters.

An eclectic emporium featuring a maze of rooms clad in vintage, oriental-style pieces, Opium restaurant is set over 3 floors of an historic townhouse. In one of the seductive Opium lounges, enjoy delicately crafted dim sum parcels, including crab and samphire dumplings, Cantonese BBQ pork bun, or sesame & lobster prawn toast.

Served with a hint of speakeasy-cool, Chinese-inspired cocktail sorcery at Opium bar in London includes the ‘Hong Kong Island iced teapot’, or the cleansing ‘Asian Garden’. Compiled by one of the world’s most well-travelled tea connoisseurs, the luxury Opium infusions list ranges from golden mulberry, to heady white vanilla.

A late-night den for dining and drinks, Opium in Chinatown is a 5-minute walk from Leicester Square Tube Station.

Love Opium. We managed to book at quite short notches, and had some great cocktails and a few dim sum before heading off to dinner elsewhere. Cocktail list is incentive, ambiance interesting (given the odds space is shoehorned into!). Dumplings are delicious. £30 a head not bad value for central London.

Excellent dumplings (in particular the pork and prawn). Friendly service. We sat on high chairs which were not the most comfortable but overall a great experience.

Great staff - our waiter was incredibly friendly and kept us smiling throughout our dining experience. The restaurant itself is small and has a bar type feel to it so it felt cosy and comfortable - perfect for a wintery night! Food-wise we couldn't complain at all, the quality was great and the prices very reasonable for a west end restaurant. Our only slight complaint would be that one of the waiters brought out our second sharing platter and instead of placing our plates and cutlery directly in front of us, he simply left it in a pile in the corner of our table. We found this a little rude and not what you expect from a waiter. Furthermore when we asked for the bill (twice) at the end of the meal they took over 15mins to bring it to the table. However this was recognised by the manager without us saying anything and was kind enough to discount a generous amount off of the total bill. Overall a fantastic night and would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Thanks!
