Inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, One Aldwych have created a unique afternoon tea. From decadent golden eggs to blueberry brioche and playful flavoured candy floss, every item reflects the wit and wonder of Roald Dahl's classic tale.

Executive Chef Dominic Teague and his team have created a scrumdiddlyumptious One Aldwych afternoon tea menu using the finest, freshest ingredients. Teatime treats are served alongside a selection of award-winning loose leaf teas and infusions from Canton Tea, each of which has been chosen to complement the delicate flavours from the kitchen.

Originally built in 1907 as the home of the Morning Post newspaper, One Aldwych occupies one of the most important Edwardian buildings in London, offering beautiful rooms, serious cocktails, delicious food and a brilliant buzz.

One Aldwych is an award-winning contemporary luxury hotel in the heart of London, just a 4-minute walk away from Covent Garden Tube Station.

The service here is incredible. We were met at the front door and taken up in the lift to the restaurant by a member of staff. Very detailed explanation of the courses and choices so well done to One Aldwych for your incredible staff. As for the food - what can I say? Delicious and inventive but beware of the calories and sugar content but I'm guessing if you book afternoon tea you will be aware of this. That said just enjoy the amazing experience, the warm scones and blueberry brioche were a highlight for me and special mention goes to the candy floss, which I haven't eaten since I was 10. They made it a very special and unique experience for my daugther's 13th birthday and I would highly recommend as a special treat.

I came for my 18th birthday with 3 friends to have Afternoon Tea and it was delicious. The staff were so attentive and kind, especially the blonde lady who led us upstairs to our tea.

    Fabulous food, service and value.
Mango Noir tea is great, savoury selection was imaginative and all tasted great especially the coronation chicken brioche. The sweet selection was amazingly good fun. Could have easily eaten all twice over if I'd the room (in fact did have refills on the our favourites - coco bean financiers especially and the some savoury).
    An absolutely lovely afternoon!

Absolutely incredible service, everyone was so accommodating and friendly and helpful, we felt so well looked after so thank you everyone!
Lovely to have each piece of food explained to us and having to "guess the flavour of candyfloss" was good fun!
The teas were so tasty I've never tried such interesting flavours, we particularly liked the chocolate and winter spice. Lovely that we could try different ones and not have to stick to one flavour.
Personal favourite savoury was the salmon sandwich and incredibly tasty winter veg Wellington which tastes like nothing I'd tried before (we'd love the recipe!) my sister was a massive fan of the coronation chicken too. Only one we weren't such fans of was the egg mayo as seemed bland in comparison to the others and the bread was quite dry.
Sweet wise we were in heaven! My absolute favourite was the chocolate egg which was all my favourite flavours and I just didn't want it to end (Please never stop making those!!) the milkshake was also delicious and over too fast! The scones were beautifully made not dry atall like at many places we've been. Even the chocolate coca bean bites that we thought would be more plain surprised us in being incredible tasty brownie-like bites!
All so beautifully presented it felt magical and like a real willy wonka experience! Felt it was priced perfectly too. Will definitely be recommending to all my friends and family. Thank you everyone for such a great effort, don't stop what you're doing!

Highly recommend the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory afternoon tea. The selection of savoury and sweet items was excellent, we particularly enjoyed the pistachio and orange cake pops and the candyfloss! Great selection of teas and the cocktail (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) was delicious! The staff were extremely polite and attentive. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
