We had afternoon tea, the food was more than I expected, and tasty with it. We had a very relaxed 2 hours experience, and enjoyed every minute of it.

This experience was an unmitigated disaster. On arrival there was no-one at the reception desk ( this is some kind of private club?), so my friend, whose birthday treat it was, and I, went through to find someone to attend to us. A young woman on the bar, when we said we had arrived for our afternoon tea said, "Your'e late, aren't you?"; we were exactly on time ( 6.00pm)! She then asked us to "wait a minute" and disappeared. After a minute or so, in which time we had looked around our surroundings, ( very gloomy, the view from the windows covered by net curtains, and nowhere obviously to sit to eat), we were asked to come into a small room off the main area, which was like a glass box without a door, same curtains over the windows; whole place lacking in ambience, and offered tea or coffee. This never arrived, as a few more minutes later, another young woman, who announced herself only as Alishea came in to say that had a problem. She said the whole place was booked for a private function that evening. I commented that an afternoon tea was hardly a difficult thing to provide, but she went on to say she had tried to ring my home number twice that day and had left a message suggesting we came in earlier instead. As I had been at home all day until coming out to go to On the 7th, I knew this to be untrue, and on re-checking on return that night, I found no message. She went to get my booking and showed the number she had phoned. It was correct, so she had either not done what she claimed or had been misdialling.
We were told that there was nothing could be done. I said I wanted my money back, forgetting this was only a booking through Bookatable. She then said maybe they could manage something. We said we had no desire to stay. i was particularly annoyed that someone should leave simply a message on the day of the appointment (made on 9.9.14). We were offered vouchers. We declined and left. We had a very nice meal at a nearby restaurant.

Afternoon tea at 'On the 7th' was a lovely. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. I would definitely visit again and recommend to others.

No complaints about the service however did not have full selection of tea that you would usually get, we asked for Assam & they didn't have so had English breakfast. Also we were not keen on the selection of cakes provided & left most of them. Wouldn't re-visit.

Quite disappointed overall, hard to find staff and waited a long time for food. All cakes had an odd texture and the scones were dry.
    The sandwiches were nice.

We were quite isolated from the rest of the club and seemingly forgotten.

Nice afternoon tea. Plentiful - brought half of the cakes home in a box - they were still good the next day.

We had afternoon tea using a Bookatable star deal. The food was fresh and delicious with a good variety of sandwiches, cakes and pastries. More than enought for 2!!!
Trendy decor and big comfy sofas make for a relaxing place to entertain or work.
