I had an evening meal here with friends. The food was lovely, very good value for money, and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again.

We enjoy coming here as its a lovely place and the service is always good. My partner has the beef burger again, he was disappointed this time. The way it was cooked was different, which made the taste different. We will go again, the menu does need to change as there is little choice or selection for vegetarians.

Pleasant Sunday lunch. Melt in the mouth roast beef and a good selection of seasonal vegetables cooked al dente. Very good. The beetroot was my personal favourite. Followed by Manchester tart. This was not overly sweet and the pastry was crisp yet buttery. Staff were helpful and attentive. It was good to be able to take my dog into the pub with me and dog treats were available for him. I'd thoroughly recommend this. Only small point was I would have liked a few more roast potatoes, just a few because this was not a put as much as you can on your plate roast but more of a taste each flavour dining experience and the food left me feeling full but not uncomfortably so. A good balance.

On arrival the car park was full, we had to park some way up the road which made us a few minutes late. We were shown upstairs to the dining room where one table of diners had just finished their meal.
So there was one table with two diners and one table with a lone diner plus ourselves waiting to order.
I was surprised that it was not busier at 7pm on a Friday evening.
We waited for the waitress and the irst thing I noticed was the 'serviettes' which resembled small tea towels.
We ordered drinks. Then ordered our food.
There was absolutely no atmosphere in the restaurant due to the lack of people.
We waited approximately 40 minutes for our main course. My husband said the Beef Stroganof was delicious and good and hot. I had the fish pie which when it arrived looked totally underwhelming with just broccoli which was only warm on the plate, it would have looked so much better if it had been accompanied with another colorful vegetable.
We chose a dessert, and waited and waited and waited and waited, until, finally, I said to one of the waiting girls that we had ordered desserts about twenty five minutes earlier and that if they were not served within five minutes we would be leaving.
The desserts arrived quickly after that with an apology for the delay. The lemon tart and apple crumble were both delicious.
My husband queried the bill as the desserts had been missed off. The girl said it was because of the long wait.
The waiting staff were very busy and there appeared to be quite a few of them. So I am not sure if the problem was in the kitchen.
