The ambiance is absolutely lovely. A perfect place to relax and step away from the outside world. Very professional and friendly staff.

Afternoon Tea at Number Sixteen hotel is an elegant and luxurious affair. With the option to take tea in any of the public spaces, from the library to the tree-filled hotel garden, there is a setting for every weather and occasion.

The Number Sixteen menu covers classic afternoon tea with the usual sandwiches and scones on offer, as well as some lesser-seen creations, such as arancini, accompanied by sweet options such as Bakewell tart. A lighter option on offer is the ‘fruit tea’, which consists of 5 plates of colourful treats themed around blueberries, orange, lime zest and honey. A gluten-free tea is available on request.

The stunning landscaped garden offers a blissful escape from the bustle of London, whilst the colourful drawing room full of modern, decorative art and bright pink fabrics, is a funky, laidback setting. The cosy library and light-flooded conservatory are also open for afternoon tea at Number 16 in London.

Number Sixteen is situated in the heart of South Kensington, with the museums on its doorstep, and South Kensington Tube Station just a 2-minute walk away.

We absolutely loved the location, the crockery and the afternoon tea

A lovely afternoon tea experience! Beautiful and relaxed surrounding and good service. My only complaint was that the sandwiches, scones and cakes were a little bit dried out.

Pros: The garden is stunning at the tea was delicious. Cons: We ordered the gluten free option and it took 45 minutes to be served to us. The waitress was surly and unpleasant which was recognized by a lovely waiter who ended up taking good care of us and couldn't have been kinder. I will go back, but will request that I do not have the same surly server......

Great find. Everyone was really impressed, from first impressions throughout. Sandwiches were good. Cakes a little dry but scones amazing. Nut allergy equivalent was awesome.

Booked afternoon tea - okay the food was reasonable but did not receive our pot of tea until second request!

A lovely afternoon tea to celebrate two 50th birthdays. Plentiful tea, sandwiches and cakes - more than we could eat. Cakes were light and delicious. A comfortable, stylish setting in the library (it was a shame the lovely garden was out of action due to inclement weather) which we had to ourselves. Service was attentive and accommodating. Lovely boutique hotel!

Beautiful little boutique hotel serving a stunning afternoon tea in a glorious setting just a stone's throw from South Kensington tube station. If the sun is shining there's a courtyard garden with join carp pond to enjoy, but the tea room is a lovely setting even when it's raining. Staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. A gem of a find. Will definitely be back!

It's a lovely place with a beautiful little garden. I booked originally a table in the garden, but as it was raining, we were sitting inside. The atmosphere is lovely and place in general cosy. We were having afternoon tea, which food wise was ok, but nothing special. Also selection of teas was quite limited (even if opt for "extra teas"). Service quality depends a lot on the waiter - one of them was excellent, but another really has to improve the attitude. Overall, I would come back here, definitely would love to use a garden (but it would be much more comfortable if the group is not more than 4 pax), probably I would not order afternoon tea here again, but just have a lovely lunch.
